SIGG Sportbottle

The Sigg company keeps coming up with more and more fabulous, fun designs! This one in blue and green called the Earth Sigg Water Bottle is really big, like 33 oz. big! By filtering my own water and filling up a Sigg instead of purchasing water in a plastic bottle, I'm not only saving myself money, I'm helping to save the environment!

Its nearly 3,000°C spark makes fire building easy in any weather, at any altitude. Used by a number of armies around the world, Swedish FireSteel's dependability has already made it a favorite of survival experts, hunters, fishermen and campers. It has also found its way into cabins and backyards as a fool-proof way to light stoves and gas-barbecues. Amazingly enough it also works equally well when wet. We think geeks will appreciate the power of being able to start a fire with such a simple tool. A metal blade is slowly moved across the Firesteel, generating sparks that can easily be thrown onto a small pile of dry grass, leaves or paper to start a fire. When the fire is becoming established, thin sticks of wood can be added, gradually increasing to thicker ones. The Swedish FireSteel has these great features. * Lights campfires, stoves, gas-barbecues * Uses a magnesium alloy that consists of 7 metals * Lasts for approximately 12,000 strikes * Produces a spark temperature close to 3,000°C (5,500°F) * Bright spark – can be used as emergency signal * Functions in rain and snow * Dimensions: main component is approx. 3.75" long * Weight: approx. 1.9 ounces

As I was climbing in the back door of my car this morning so that I could get into the front seat and kick open the frozen front door, I started thinking about what might be good to keep in the glove compartment now that the cold weather has hit the Midwest. A flask of whiskey is the obvious choice. More practically speaking, this kit might be handy in a roadside emergency situation... from the site: According to the folks who build those awesome rovers that drive around on Mars, water is a pretty essential element for the existence of life. Liquid water is an especially important form necessary to support life, and fortunately for us, we have plenty of that here on Earth. Most other places in our solar system the water is all locked up as ice. The Ultimate Survival Kit in a Water Bottle doesn't contain any liquid water (but of course you can easily add your own) but that doesn't mean it cannot help support life. What is does contain could help with your survival while you roam around the surface of our planet in search of outdoor adventures. Comes packaged as a 32 oz (1 liter) water bottle containing the following supplies. * 32 oz/1L water bottle * Carabiner * Multifunction tool * Multifunction whistle/compass * Flashlight * Batteries (2 pcs) * Survival blanket * Hand warmer packet (2 pcs) * Candle * Box waterproof matches * Emergency poncho * 20pc First aid kit * Reusable zipper-lock bag
