Leni Riefenstahl. Africa
I'd picked up "The Last of the Nuba", a heavy volume of Leni Riefenstahl's photographs Nubian, Dinka, Shilluk, and Masai while in art school. Each image was so beautiful, powerful, and overwhelming that I could only study one image during each sitting. Before "The Last of the Nuba" I found it impossible to find any books which presented photographs of African customs, environment, and adornment which such grace, detail, and respect. Glad to see Leni Riefenstahl's Africa photographs published by Taschen

I'm not sure what birds think of bird house architecture, I'm sure they have an opinion, me I'm just delighted to see an alternative to the cold ... I'm not sure what birds think of bird house architecture, I'm sure they have an opinion, me I'm just delighted to see an alternative to the cold sterile bird houses where chicks feel alienated from the wild, and would rather sit at home watching You Tube than to go out and sing songs with birds in their community. Call me naïve and romantic but this Thatched Roof Nesting Pocket makes me think that there is a more healthy and sustainable way birds can live in an urban environment without loosing touch with their roots.
