For all I know, its suppose to be there. But its something to do, seems semi scientific and feels like $10 well spent.

I have dry skin and this stuff works really well. It's a gel consistency and it lathers up really well. It doesn't leave my face feeling dry after washing at all. I love using it with St Ives Apricot Scrub
