all right, this isn't quite under $15, but i had to make an exception for it. delicious 57% chardonnay/43% pinot noir sparkling wine (pinot noir can be used to make whites, too). excellent cheap wine for new year's/what have you. too good for mimosas, in my opinion.

(since we bought so much of the wine for my Murphy Goode Winery job application video). Fortunately, the Fumé Blanc (the Californication of Sauvignon Blanc) is super perfect for the beginning of summer since it pairs well with "appetizers, salads, grilled chicken or fish, light sauces and lighter dishes in general. The wine's succulent fruit and good acidity complement fresh seafood, particularly shellfish." So this weekend, we're throwing some shrimp on the barbie (maybe a couple on ken, too), and starting the summer off with Murphy Goode's "The Fumé."

One of my favorite. This is a great wine for a special occasion or a celebration. Just make sure to let it breath for at least 1 hour if not 2 hours.

This is a wonderful red to serve dinner guests...keep a few bottles on hand to unwind with whenever the mood strikes. winemaker's notes: The reserva wines of Marqués de Riscal are made basically from grapes coming from vines over 15 years old, of the Tempranillo variety. This is a variety that ages well in wood, producing wines with a good tannic structure, color and acidity during the ageing process. The reserva wines of Riscal spend approximately two years in American oak barrels, forming a wine which adheres to the principles of classic Rioja wines.
