this is a beautiful lamp designed by Bathsheba Grossman and it is said to mark the end of a series that has spanned her sculptural life. It is a twelve sided lighting sculpture made out of a translucent light nylon material and the sconce is made out of nylon and epoxy..both with multiple holes...available as a sconce or pendant... I want this....

Saw this piece on the Roadshow, and havent been able to let it go. It seems Gerome, was more known for his paintings, which also are very beautiful. However, not much of his scupltures are readily available on the net.

So this artist is definitely known more for his chainsaw sculptures of bears and grizzly things but this Jessica Rabbit is certainly different! What an head turning piece! The only thing I would have changed would be to paint he... She left Hungary just before the end of the Soviet occupation and the collap... Funky little sculpture makes a statement about how domestic relations. Ildikó Kalapács was born in Hungary and has been living in the USA since 1987. She left Hungary just before the end of the Soviet occupation and the collapse of the Soviet Union. Her past experiences with social issues can be detected in her works created in the USA in the past 14 years. Ildikó’s work is rooted in two cultures—Hungarian and American—and influenced by her travels as a folk dancer and artist. Her two-dimensional images are derived from the traditions of figurative art mixed with traces of Central European folk art and four languages: Hungarian, Russian, English and Japanese. The complex nature of her art can be traced back to her interest in intercultural disciplines and globalization. Her three-dimensional art works consist of mostly ceramic works with some mixed media and bronze pieces. The use of these materials follows some tradition in Hungarian art but ceramics also plays a philosophically and conceptually important role in her art, symbolizing the fragile nature of the human body and soul. One must touch it and handle it gingerly and carefully. This is the basic principle and approach to her socially oriented sculptures. Along with the literal form, her work leaves enough room for abstract or conceptual interpretation.

Oh isn't the female dancer just lovely. This is made from ivory and aluminum and would look exquisitely divine on a vanity, boudoir, girl's room, or anywhere the female figure and mystique will be appreciated.
