Marrakech Eau de Toilette Splash by Aesop
First to recommend
Description
The "exotic" seems to always be associated with decadence. This unisex scent recalls the seemingly conflicted soul of Marrakech: a place where chaos and an ancient stillness coexist.
Spicy notes of Clove, Sandalwood, and Cardamom pervade this fragrance.
$79 for 50 ml (via luckyscent.com)

Liquid Crystal Eau de Parfum by Agonist

Description
I wouldn't normally write a review of a perfume without even sampling it, but this is obviously so decadent. Not only could I not afford to buy a scent for such an outrageous price ($1150). I also couldn't afford to omit such a thing from a list purporting DECADENCE.
Production of this perfume was limited to only 300 pieces. (via luckyscent.com)

1950s Oriental Smoking Set - Hand Painted
First to recommend
Description
These days we all know that there is no such place as "the Orient". However, the aesthetics of a more naive time like the 1950's is pretty cool to see with 21st century eyes.
Yeah, yeah, yeah --- smoking is bad for you. Most folks smoked their asses off prior to the 1990's. So, there are many an artifact from that time to be had. You have to admit that some of the stuff associated with it (vintage ashtrays, etc.) is rather stylish.
Even if you don't smoke this little set is hot! (via etsy.com)

air plant . tillandsia . urchin . terrarium

Description
This brilliant little "New World" plant is represented in 540 species that are found all over Mexico, North, Central and South America. They can be found in forests, deserts and in the mountains. They need no soil to grow, and are thus called "air plants".
If you accidentally kill every plant that enters your home, this may be the one for you! (via etsy.com)

Small Vintage Padlock w/ Key
First to recommend
Description
This super-heavy, hand-wrought antique padlock is an industrial thing of beauty! The fact that it works and has keys make it more real, and a bit less surreal. Still --- another age, another time, another aesthetic are represented. (via etsy.com)

Jake the Stegosaurus Planter & Cactus by PlaidPigeon on Etsy

Description
Admittedly, I haven't really been into dinosaurs since about the 3rd grade. That being said, this dino-planter-cactus combo immediately piqued my interest! It may be nostalgia or just part of a screwy set of aesthetics that have evolved into pure Dadaism. (via etsy.com)

Crow Bottle Opener | Rare Device

Description
Although designed in Japan; this clever little crow reminds me of a Native American totem animal. It would be a crime to hide him in a kitchen drawer, with the likes of tongs and butter knives. He will look perfectly at home perched on a mantle, coffee table or bar. (via raredevice.net)

An enlarged, cheeky and slightly fuzzy version of the ubiquitous Chinese Restaurant place mat! This is the kind of kitsch I can really sink my teeth into. (via urbanoutfitters.com)
