I was the inaugural main staff person at McSweeney's, where my tasks included subscriber-database maintenance, heavy-box lifting, and the procurement of bat-removal experts for appearances at public readings. I have interviewed members of the Beastie Boys and Metallica for Spin magazine, conducted interviews with fashion designers in pigeon Italian for Surface, and applied perfume to passersby for Allure; my writing on film, design, and art now regularly appears in Nylon, ID, and other publications.
