For this recommendation: Garland Stoves.
a handsome man a beautiful lady came to my moms restaurant for a romantic dinner and mid way threw dinner they walked around our restaurant and passed by my mom in the kitchen n smiled ;-)
about two months later the man called n said this is Samuel Cousins do you remember me my mom said yes of course , she remembered the name cousins she associated it with something else .... he said I noticed you have alot of old stoves ...would you like another ? I bought it years ago at an estate sale it belonged to Clare Booth Lose it's a 1958 Garland ..... my mom was thinking if he only new I have stoves everywhere on her outside porch for canning near her garden .....and also because an artist friend of our family always antonio salemme and his wife told my mom stories when he was comishioned to do a portrait of Clare Booth Lose .....
my mom said yes I would love the stove I have just the spot ;-)
the old original part of our house is before 1754 it's log cabin n stone after my parents put the addition on they took the comercial stove n put it down in the new kitchen and the space had always been left , and many times I would say to mom why don't we buy a stove for that space and mom would always say to be patient and now I know why .... 48 years later this man would deliver it ;-)
when he came we both noticed he was so tall and handsome and a gentle persona .... my mom told him about the space and antonios storie and he said now I have a storie for you my aunt Julia Childs ..... my mom almost fanted this is one of her favorite persons she idealized her so.....and after realizing this man looked like his aunt julia and even talked as she did ........
life is just amazing !
and Garlands are the Best!

I have an old Garland stove. It is white enamel with black trim, a piano hinged top over four burners, oven and drawers, and sits o four curved legs. Can you tell me anything about its age/history?

Celebrating life and family through food.
I was born to mainland Puerto Rican parents in Brooklyn, New York. Between my grandmother and mother, and my extended family of relatives from Central America, Spain, and other parts of the Spanish-speaking world, I grew up appreciating the diversity of Latin cuisine.
Prior to entering the food world, I was an actress and model. A surprise birthday gift of culinary school from my husband Jerry led to my matriculating at the French Culinary Institute in 1998. Shortly after graduation, I worked on the set of PBS’ Lidia's Italian-American Kitchen as a prep-kitchen chef, and as a private chef in New York City. In addition, I managed a small catering business, “The Passionate Palate”, which I continue to operate.
While celebrating life and family through food, I am also intensely proud of my Puerto Rican heritage and I am very active in the Latino community. In addition to my appearances at cooking demonstrations, public schools and special events, I communicate my cultural roots and knowledge of the broad spectrum of Latin cuisine through Daisy Cooks!, my PBS television program, and cookbook, Daisy Cooks! Latin Flavors that Will Rock Your World.
I am the mother of four fantastic children and live with my family in Brooklyn, NY.
