Updated Jun 24, 2008

Description

Joe Futschik of jefdesigns might be flattered to know that I am wearing a yellow sweater and made sure my hair was a good brown today in honor of his latest Gorgonia in Yellow wood paneled art. Yes, we match perfectly. Did we actually plan it? Well, not exactly, but I would like to play it off as though we did. (via Design Public)

Fritillaria Wood Art Panel

Description

Joe Futschik, designer and owner of jefdesigns, has released a special edition silkscreen image in honor of his mother who died earlier this year from ovarian cancer. I feel like it is rare for a day to pass by without hearing about someone who has developed or is struggling with cancer. I am sure I could count a good handful or more of my own close friends or family who have fought the disease, and with each person I think it is utterly important to recognize and honor what they have gone through, a celebration in some form that immortalizes their character. Simply stated, I find Joe's tribute to his mother awe inspiring and beautiful.

50% of all sales of the jefdesigns Screen Printed Wood Art Panel- Fritillaria will be donated to the Ovarian Cancer Research Fund. (via Design Public)

Jefdesigns Screen Printed Wood Art Panel - Gorgonia

Description

Without question, jefdesigns has taken my love for wood paneling up a notch. Joe Futschik combines the quality and character I worship in wood with beautiful modern screen printed imagery. The detail in his screen printing is astonishing and the colors are perfect complements to the warm woods. The only issue: these are limited edition, signed and numbered pieces so they won’t be around for long. Oh gosh, I think I am drooling. (via Design Public)
