Let me start off by saying I hate musical movues. I do. I hate them. I tried to watch the movie Rent and I damn near jumped out the window. However since i heard so many great things about Across the Universe in the media as well as right here on ThisNext that I had to give it a watch.

Um ... I freaking LOVE this movie.

It started off a little weird for me since I am not really one for people breaking out into song but once it got going I didn't want the movie to end. Great music, great story -- in fact, I think I might watch it again tonight.

Watching American Idol isn't cool, it's just not (sorry). But just because it isn't cool doesn't mean I don't like it. I watch American Idol, there I said it. This DVD has the best of season 1-4, those were really the best seasons weren't they. I won't go as far as buying this but if someone sat me down with a plate full of pizza rolls I would watch.

I have a confession -- I have like a MAJOR crush on Shia Labeouf. Yeah, I know what you all are thinking ... isn't he like 12? No he is like 21, which is still a bit young for me but whatever if I see him in line at Le Deux I am totally asking him out. Hear that Shia? You and me on a date it will be magical.

Anyway back to the recommendation, that was enough of being in my sick little head. I watched this movie on a plane and for some reason (maybe it was Shia) I really liked it. I am not a big action movie girl but something about those familiar robots made me like this. I am a product of the 80s, remember?

Description

I watched this documentary on The Sundance Channel last week and it was really good. It was cool to see designers that you just assumed were established but are really just young struggling artists like: Doo.ri, Proenza Schouler, Habitual and more. Very cool, totally worth a watch if you are into fashion.

On Valentine's Day while I am sitting on my tail, drinking my champagne, and eating my cookies I will need a good movie playing. No romantic comedies, those movies are stupid as hell and in my fragile state might spin me into an unnecessary depression. No horror movies, even though I love them, because they will make me feel alone if by chance I get scared. No dramas because those require me to pay attention -- not one of my strongest skills. So naturally a comedy is in order.

Starsky & Hutch is hysterical. Owen Wilson, Ben Stiler, Snoop Doog as Huggie Bear -- you can't beat a line up like that.

I had a little Xmas returning to do today and took back the non-Discovery channel version of this DVD that my mom got me and the Happy Feet DVD that my brother got me ( I asked for March of the Penguins). I got this DVD set at Costco for $77 which is one hell of a deal. You get the entire Planet Earth box set and the Blue Planet box set -- thats 10 DVDs! I can't wait to watch them on my parents fancy TV.

I swear, Oprah and I were cut from the same cloth. I watched some of this show on the Discovery Channel on Sunday night and I fell in love. I have never been geekier, but I loved it. Description

I am obsessed with this movie. I ordered it off of paper-view and watched it 3 times in the 24 hour viewing window. Then I drove all over town to find the movie on DVD ... 3 Best Buys, 2 video stores, and 2 Targets ... nothing. Finally I went to some spooky video store and the guy found some magical hidden copy for me. I brought it home and watched it twice. Love this movie.

The story of Edie is fascinating and the fashions in this movie are to die for! This movie even inspired my awesome new(ish) haircut. This is definitely one of my favorite things.
