Another glorious sign that I am getting older -- I drink coffee now. I used to be able to get by on my natural high and could stay awake all day. Now I am a cranky old bitch who can't keep it together unless she has a cup.

This is the only chocolate that Fashion Kitty is getting close to for the next 12 weeks. Yeah, that's right it's extreme diet time again. This thing is really freaking cool! I actually know how to make sushi the "good old fashioned way" but I it's kinda of a pain and my sushi doesn't always come out looking like a winner. It took me a long time (alright 5 minutes) to track down this 'combination' of combos. The pretzel and cheese flavor is common, it for rookies. The pizza flavor is a bit too strong for me, ends in extra bad combo breath. The cracker and cheese flavor is perfection.

Leaving me alone with a can of cream cheese frosting is like leaving a crack addict alone with a stack of crack. Does crack even come in stacks? Whatever. It starts out with dipping my finger in and taking little, okay huge, mouthful of frosting. Then I shove the container back in the fridge and run into the other room. Only to run back into the fridge to reenact this shameful act again. By the third visit to the fridge I just give up, get a spoon and sit myself on the couch. If that isn't shame, I don't know what is.

Usually I am the picture of the perfect diet. I eat right, I workout, and I don't eat frozen b.s. But then there are those times when I do eat frozen bs. Those times were junk food is the only thing that will do. I remember many a night sitting in front of the TV watching American Idol (more shame) while eating a piping hot baking sheet full of Totino's Pizza Rolls.

You should have seen my face when I saw this gum at Costco. It was sad really, I damn near jumped for joy. I didn't even try the gum I just went for it and bought it in bulk. It's pretty darn good. I am a fan of Bubble Mint, Orange Mint, and Raspberry flavored gum by Orbit so this Melon flavor was naturally a hit for me.

This is seriously the best magazine ever, it successfully got me out of my diet hell .. I mean boredom. I mean really I was so sick of eating egg whites and plain turkey -- some may not believe this but I do like taste with my food sometimes.

Clean Eating is awesome. Healthy food with taste. The magazine has handy shopping lists and great articles, which makes healthy eating a breeze. So far I have made the eggplant lasagna but I plain on making the turkey tenders which are coated in a toasted whole wheat pita "batter" and the turkey meatballs with a cherry tomato in the center.

I am so excited for the second issue to come out. I highly recommend this for those in a diet rut.

I am into bars, specifically energy bars. They make a great snack and these days they make them taste less like dirt and more like deliciousness. One problem I was finding though is that some of them are really high in calories ... calories are not a friend of mine. I put myself on a mission to find a good tasting bar with less than 200 calories.

I have found quite a few -- Larabars are around 190 and Kind bars are 190 as well. Anyways, I went to Costco to buy one of those brands in bulk when I found Bora Bora bars.

Bora Bora bars are around 150 calories and actually taste better than Kind and Lara. They are all natural, non-GMO, they are gluten free, with no preservatives, are USDA Organic and certified vegan. PLUS they are Trans fat free. Low in sodium. No sugar added. Low glycemic carbs.

Wowsa! I think I have found the perfect nutrition bar.

I was never a Starbuck's girl ... I preferred Coffee Bean.

I was never a latte girl ... I preferred green tea.

Until ... Starbuck's came out with their "Skinny Latte." Yes I am a sucker for clever marketing tactics, shut up. But seriously, these lattes are delicious. With only 90 calories for a small ( I refuse to call it a "tall") you get all the taste, all the caffeine, all the coolness that is associated with carrying around a paper Starbuck's cup.

I will be gulping these down like a mad woman while I am in NY Fashion Week because I will need the caffeine but I won't need the calories.

Think Thin Bars

I am a snacker, I can't help it -- it's just how I am wired. I am always looking for a new energy bar that can get me out of my 3:00 slump. Think Thin is my latest favorite. They are more candy bar like than the other energy bars out there with flavors like Peanut Butter/ Chocolate.

They have the perfect amount of calories, not too much and not too little. Bars that are loaded with calories seems like a complete waste to me and ones with too few leave me starved in a matter of hours. ThinkThin bars are satisfying and tasty.

You can usually find them at places like Trader Joes and Whole Foods the PB and Chocolate kinds are my favorite.

On carb-Saturdays (I am a total freak, I realize this) I start my morning off with Vans frozen waffles. They are so tasty they are made with whole wheat (or you can go wheat free), are loaded with fiber, some are packed with flax seed and other good stuff. I eat mine plain, noting on them, so they must be good if I can do that.
