Long Handle Coffee Scoop by RSVP

First to recommend

Description

The best way to get the grounds out of the bottom of the bag is with a long-handled coffee scoop. And like any good coffee scoop, it's twice the size so you don't lose track of how many scoops you've put in as often :)

2007 Francis Coppola "Sofia" Carneros Pinot Noir Rosé

Description

They say, "This wine's seductive, feminine wiles will enchant you from the moment you pop the cork. A sparkling rosé with a strawberry and rose petal perfume followed by juicy flavors reminiscent of framboise, red cherry and citrus zing. It's fruity, but not cloying, crisp and refreshing. This is the perfect wine for imagining yourself at a beachfront café in the South of France."

I say, "This was a fun (especially the bottle) bright rose which was exactly what it was supposed to be--a nice treat on a sunny Sunday (or Saturday) afternoon during the summer. I'd happily consume another bottle of this one."

Angeline 2006 Cabernet Sauvignon Alexander Valley (Martin Ray)

First to recommend

Description

They say, "Tasting Notes - This wine has a deep garnet hue and aromas of lush fruit: black cherry, cassis and vanilla. The rich black cherry and plum flavors are layered with hints of vanilla, creamy oak and cassis that linger on the palate. The finish is smooth and satisfying, with soft tannins complementing the intense fruit."

I say, "A nice wine, went well with my dinner of salad and home made truffled potato chips. At $12.99 I'd totally buy this again, but it's more of an everyday wine."

I suspect the Penthouse wasn't thrilled with us for bringing our own but their wine list is so unreliable and odd that I didn't want to chance it.

2006 Westrey "Reserve" Willamette Valley Pinot Noir

First to recommend

Description

They say, "A barrel selection of the best of their single-vineyard pinots, this wine shows rich blueberry fruit with a touch of Oregon earthiness. This ripe fruit is balanced by great acidity and structure with fine tannins on the finish that show a great potential for ageing."

I say, "A sweet, chocolatey and berry wine that delighted us and our friends. I would definitely buy another bottle of this for sharing with our oenophile friends."

Brookland Daybed with Trundle (Hillsdale Furniture 1328-010 / 1328-020 / 1328-030 / 90007)

Description

This trundle day bed appears to be stylish. I'm not sure how I feel about leather furniture in our studio/office (or anywhere for that matter) but this one at least has some style and the leather parts aren't where kitty claws go.

Afton Daybed with Trundle - Ballard Designs

First to recommend

Description

Appropriate places for guests to sleep are among my priorities, especially my brother and his (almost--one week from today!) wife. I cannot believe how boring the majority of trundle day beds are (well, day beds in general). This one at least is upholstered with clean, non-fussy lines. I'm hoping I can get different fabrics on different parts of the bed (can't see why not) so I'm pretty excited about this one!

philosophy the present clear makeup

Description

A friend recommended this product to me and I have to say I was skeptical. I'm skeptical about high-priced cosmetics, about stores like Sephora, and about any kind of magic in a bottle unless it's wine... I went over to Sephora and tried some on last night and I have to say it is indeed magical.

I don't like foundation because I have nice skin and it's uncomfortable and I can never find a good matching color and it gets on my clothes. I don't like powder because I have peach fuzz (fine hairs on my cheeks) and it sticks to the hairs and makes me look funny and it dries out my skin. This stuff solves ALL of those problems and makes my skin look much more even. It is my new "It" product and I can't recommend it highly enough to someone who wants to look like their wearing makeup without wearing any. It's like a great moisturizer, not a foundation. And it smells great, too! Lavender!
