Jonathan Stockton Sunset Furniture Newick East Sussex England

First to recommend

Description

Jonathan Stockton's Sunset Furniture Collection is incredibly stylish with eco-creds to boot: hand made in England from Teak, FSC (Forest Stewardship Council) certified Oak or reclaimed FSC certified Teak. The nature of the design utilises the maximum yeald from each consignment of timber - so as not to see timber wasted. Particularly loving the high back bench, a shape that is making quite a splash in the UK. (via My Urban Garden Deco Guide)

Forests Forever

Description

Too often designers, but also individual buyers alike, tend to simply overlook where the timber for construction or furniture comes from. Timber in itself, and when sourced properly, hits all the right spots with green requirements.

Don't pass on the grass, man... giant grass, as in bamboo, grows really fast making it a wonderfully sustainable material. And it makes really cool looking trays, bowls, and stools to name just a few. (via Land + Living)
