About Me

An avid Harley Davidson enthusiast, surfer and the product of California culture rarely translates into the makings of the creator behind a multi-million dollar yummy loungewear brand. However, I'm a self-taught designer who created Scanty from scratch in 2004.

Scanty is the yummy lifestyle brand made for fashion-conscious yet down-to-earth women looking for fun and upscale comfort. Each Scanty piece is stylish and versatile – wear a Scanty top over jeans, legging or boots to look effortlessly hot. Or, pair our pants with a tunic, tank or cardigan to be boho-chic. Our ‘60’s and ‘70’s infused prints are adored by celebrity fans including Demi Moore, Brooke Sheilds, Rachel Bilson, Carmen Electra and Christina Applegate, to name a few. Scanty isn't my first success in the fashion world, but merely the newest incarnation of my creative energies. My career in the clothing business has lasted almost 30 years to date. I've always used my eye for lifestyle trends and knowledge of vintage Americana to create garments that feel like the past, but speak to the present. Peace + Happiness = Scanty


A health crisis in 2004 (triple bypass) was the catalyst that led me to rethink my initial strategy for SCANTY. I was sure SCANTY had potential but I realized that in order to bring it to the level of success that I wanted, I'd have to bring someone in to handle the business aspect of the brand. SBH Intimates, an industry leader in intimate apparel and loungewear, was the company that would allow me to direct all of my creative energy towards the image and the design of the brand, thus freeing me from the day to day business aspects of the industry. Julie Zipperer – my best friend AND VP of Sales – came on board during this time to oversea expansion and help solidify the brand as we know it. Scanty is cool as sh*t!
