About Me
I started out in comedy like most comedians, as a class clown with a C average. I had no dreams of being a lawyer or doctor and was too slow footed to be a professional athlete. I came to Los Angeles from Detroit, Michigan and stood in line at the world famous Comedy Store with fifteen homeless people and a few other kids, with nine dollars and a dream. I got my three minutes of fame every week. Three turned to six, six turned to ten, ten to twenty and the rest led to the comedy adventure I am living now.
I have toured with Dave Chappelle, Bob Saget, Dave Attel and currently I'm touring with the Young American Comedy Tour. The next big thing is my thing. I created The Young American Comedy Tour by looking around at my friends and saying “damn, we need a job!” They agreed and The Improv gave us a twenty-city tour, starting in Tempe and ending in Pittsburgh. The reception was amazing and the tour continues on. My other passion is writing.
I wrote for the first season of HBO’s hit series, Entourage, which was an amazing experience. You work for that show and somehow your life becomes like the show. Before I knew it, I was getting free gear and gift bags from every clothing maker I'd never heard of. Then I sold a sitcom based on my life to ABC which no one will ever see because it didn’t make it to pilot. Warner Brothers then gave me a development deal for a year, which was amazing as well. I developed nothing but my cardio since I made it to the gym every day and was not called upon to do anything else. They paid me well and I would be happy to get more jobs like that if they came my way.
Most recently I sold a show called “The Light” (which they may change the name of) to HBO. “The Light” is a scripted series based on my life as a stand up comic and it pulls no punches. This is no sitcom. This is a drama about comedy. Go figure. I also wrote the movie “Right Angle” for Camelot Pictures, the company that brought you “Garden State” and brought me another check.
It’s been an amazing ride so far for me and it’s only getting better. Life on the road is not so bad. I write during the day and perform at night. In between, I try to get some sleep. It’s not easy being on the road. Right now The Young American Comedy Tour is a big part of my life. So come and check me out on the Young in The Young American Comedy Tour at a theatre near you. I'm not the only funny one on the tour.
