Personalised Jelly Mould - Personalised Gifts from GettingPersonal.couk

Updated Apr 14, 2008

1st to recommend

Description

I love this, I came across it when I was looking for unique gifts to celebrate the achievement of anyone completing the London Marathon yesterday. It would be novel, and their legs might feel like jelly by the time you serve one up. I bet no one made them a jelly that said My Hero in it before! Love it. (via Getting Personal)

Personalised jewellery from Boutique to You

Updated Feb 18, 2008

1st to recommend

Description

Boutique to You is another of my favourite online jewellery stores, and for Mother's Day its a great choice. They are the only place in the UK you can order Fingerprints jewellery from, and lets face it, jewellery can't come more personalised than when it combines your fingerprints into it. I've featured a couple of other personalised pieces on my site, which use photos rather than fingerprints, and these look great too. Great choices for someone's first Mother's Day, or for when there has been a new addition to your family. (via Problem Presents)

Designer Earrings, Mother of Pearl chandelier earrings in vermeil by Lisa Stewart

Updated Feb 18, 2008

Description

I think Astley Clark could well turn out to be the Tiffany of the 21st Century. Their choice of jewellery, and the designers they select is stunning, and there is always something new to choose from. For stylish contemporary women everywhere, there will always be something perfect at AC for them. So hard to choose one thing, but right now I'm loving these chandelier earrings by Lisa Stewart. In mother of pearl, so a great choice for Mother's Day. And not at all reminiscent of Pat Butcher! (via Problem Presents)

Baby Keepsake Co - Baby 3D Hand and Foot Casting, Casting Kits, Lifecasting Services

Updated Feb 18, 2008

1st to recommend

Description

I think this is a fabulous gift for mums, dads, grandparents...everyone. Just remember to do it when your offspring are small (my daughter is in a UK size 13 shoe now so not so practical). You can either get a DIY kit or one of The Keepsake Company's team will come round and do it for you. Apparently the kids get to be fascinated by these as they grow older, which I can imagine is true. Great choice of materials, so you can match these little treasures to your surroundings. Spa Finder gift certificates

Updated Feb 18, 2008

1st to recommend

Description

Spa Finder have the most comprehensive database of spas around the world that I have come across (useful if, like me, your family is spread around the world). You buy the vouchers, and they can use the site to book themselves in. I like the fact that there is a wide range in the UK, for all kinds of prices, and covers day spas and residential. Go on, every mum deserves some time to herself! (via Problem Presents)

My Monopoly

Updated Feb 18, 2008

1st to recommend

Description

I love gifts that let you tell a story, and My Monopoly is a really unique way to do that. You can feature all the places that mean the most to your mum and your family, all the places you've been on holiday together, even the places you've had to stop the car for someone to be sick or relieve themselves. My family would no doubt include places I had fallen and bumped my head (quite a few choices), places I have run canal boats aground (trust me, it's possible) and a few favourite watering holes!

Available through Firebox in the UK, one of my favourite sites for great gifts (via Problem Presents)

Photobox Free Online Photo Albums & Digital Photo Sharing

Updated Feb 18, 2008

Description

I love Photo Box, I think they do the best personalised photo books and notebooks around, and they make a fantastic gift for your mum. I like the flexibility of their layouts, the choice of colours, and also the fact that you can add in your own text, tell your own story. Delivery is normally very quick, and the quality is great. They often have 2 for 1 offers on, so worth keeping an eye on (check Hot Off the Press on my site, we always update as soon as they have a new offer as we think they are so brill). It's almost boring to recommend the REN Rose Otto products. But it's not because they are so divine, and I love this new gift set in time for Mother's Day. I think this is always a winner, and pleased they keep coming up with new things to keep the interest up!

Le Labo Rose 31

Updated Feb 14, 2008

1st to recommend

Description

I love Le Labo for their whole philosophy, for their great stores, and their amazing scents. I love Rose 31, they say its roses for men, I would say its a rose fragrance for those people who don't like really florally scents. It's got warm, spicy woody notes to counterbalance the rose, and I think its gorgeous for men or women.

In the UK, these fragrances are now available at Libertys

CB I Hate Perfume Burning Leaves

Updated Feb 14, 2008

1st to recommend

Description

In spite of recommending At the Beach 1966, I'm much more of an autumn/winter girl, and love dark, smokey fragrances. Hence why I love this. According to Christopher, it's the smell of burning maple leaves. For me, its the essence of autumn, bottled.

I love Christopher Brosius' work. I loved what he did at Demeter, I love what he does under his own name even more. I never went to the beach in 66, but if I had I would definitely have wanted it to have smelt like this, and I love it as a summer smell now

Neil Morris Fragrances: NMF Fragrances: Aegean

Updated Feb 14, 2008

1st to recommend

Description

Two reasons why I love this. One, the description makes me want to dive into this fragrance, as a substitute for diving into the Aegean itself. Two, I discovered it at Takashimaya in New York, which is one of my favourite stops for fragrance shopping in the city. It's like a little oasis amidst the chaos of 5th Ave. (via Daniele at Takashimaya)

Musc Ravageur : Welcome to les senteurs.

Updated Feb 13, 2008

1st to recommend

Description

If I could only have one fragrance from Editions De Parfum, Musc Ravageur would be it. I mean, it's described as dark and dangerous, and elegantly depraved, which is more aspiration than reality on my behalf, but oh, the glorious imagery it brings to mind.

If you're in London, then stop by Les Senteurs in Belgravia and let Florian take you on a magical mystery tour of fabulous fragrance. I could lose myself for hours in there!

Special Edition 2007 Test Kit : Welcome to les senteurs.

Updated Feb 13, 2008

1st to recommend

Description

I'm not a mainstream fragrance kind of girl, so this is my idea of heaven: a testing kit of the Editions de Parfums perfumes. Of course it's not cheap, but then my tastes in fragrance rarely have been, and its worth paying for these divine creations. I don't love them all, but I'm intrigued by many of them. I do love, completely irrationally, Musc Ravageur, and have a growing appreciation of Noir Epices. If there is one of these left, then I'd like it! (via Les Senteurs)

Heart Of Hearts Powder Compact

Updated Feb 8, 2008

1st to recommend

Description

I'm not a big Estee Lauder fan, but I'm loving the Heart of Hearts compact. Unfortunately it doesn't seem to be available here in the UK, so may have to track one down on eBay. But it would make a gorgeous Valentine's Day gift for girly girls everywhere. Whilst makeup is always tricky as a gift, this just has translucent powder in, so useful for many, but not all. Description

Another of my favourite stores in Broadway Market, Fabrications has great, slightly quirky handmade stuff from a huge number of designers for such a small space. The online shop is non-transactional, but if it was, in my bid to embrace more things green, then I'd order these recycled plant pots for around the house. They look fun and slightly retro, and will add a splash of colour into any room.

Black quilted satin shopper from Jack Gomme

Updated Feb 8, 2008

1st to recommend

Description

Black Truffle is a great shop in Broadway Market, definitely a hot spot to get to know when you're in London. Great ranges, and if you need a gift for a vegan friend, then they have a small but beautiful range of vegan friendly bags. I like this one in particular from Jack Gomme. It's squash, squidgy, kind of cuddly, and with plenty of room for all the rubbish/essentials we girls carry around!

And if you can't get to Broadway Market, then the Black Truffle website is pretty comprehensive.
