Spy Camera Sunglasses

Updated May 28, 2008

2 people recommended this item

Description

More awesome spy-gear for the technophile (nerd). These are somewhat cool (albeit a bit clunky) glasses with a camera attached to it.

It has a gig of storage and can also be used to store mp3s.
Not that I'd ever suggest taking surreptitious pictures, I'm sure that creatively applied, this could be a LOT of fun.

Here are some stats:
1GB of storage
Plays MP3s and takes 1.3 Megapixel digital photos
Embedded ear buds
Remote control for taking photos
RF remote frequency: 2.4GHz
Li-ion rechargeable battery
USB 2.0 connection
Control buttons

These are completely useless yet absolutely cool. Good for a quick gag gift, or for surreptitiously surprising your roomate.

The Red LED faucet light is particularly good after you've seen a horror movie :)

HAL(Hybrid Assistive Limb) - CYBERDYNE

Updated May 8, 2008

Description

Cyberdyne? Seriously... Cyberdyne? Thats the company that caused the apocalypse in the Terminator series!

and HAL? Seriously, Hal? That's the psychotic computer in 2001!

Yes, I know it stands for Hybrid Assistive Limb, but omg, how much bad karma can you fit in a name.

Yet, something still tells me, if someone gave this to me, and wanted me to put it on, I'd do so without hesitation. :)

Steampunk Keyboard

Description

For any modders, steampunk fans, or people who just like to have something wickedly cool and original, this steampunk keyboard is all brass and cool.

Its a completely functional keyboard with just tons of awesome poured into it. The keys are modded buttons, and the "F" buttons are all in roman numerals.

Hieronymus Isambard "Jake" Von Slatt is a master in the field of steampunk. His site steampunkworkshop.com is an incredible resource for anything steampunk.

I love it, I want it... maybe I should make my own keyboard mod... should be fun. (via Steampunk Workshop)

Betamax to HD-DVD Converter

Updated Apr 1, 2008

2 people recommended this item

Description

Losers of the format wars unite! Literally. In the early to mid 80's, the video format wars crushed Betamax. Despite its superior video quality, you could just cram more "Howard the Duck" or "Enemy Mine" on a VHS.

Fast forward a few more years, but not far enough where you get to the hovercars, you find that BluRay has done the same thing to HD/DVD. I'm not one of the HD/DVD v BluRay fanboys, but the word is out, HD/DVD is done, it lost and they're no longer being made.

Now with this Beta to HD/DVD converter, you can finally transfer one loser format to another. It's simultaneoulsy sad and amazingly cool. It's retro-meets-modern tech. I absolutely love it. (via ThinkGeek)

It's a great system, and with Blu Ray beating out HD DVD in the format wars, it's an excellent way to get an entertainment system that's complete.

Another great thing is Sony's Home that's coming out. Home is a virtual world that's going to be integrated like Xbox Live ... but with avatars, ingame movies and games and all sorts of really cool stuff.

The games are getting better and better, and more of them.

Sony PSP

Updated Mar 18, 2008

31 people recommended this item

Description

The PSP is absolutely essential if you travel, while it wont carry as much music as an iPod, iPhone or a Zune, it makes up for it by having a lot of other options. You can watch movies in UMD or download them on a media stick for viewing. The graphics are sharp and clear, the screensize is very nice. Oh, it plays games too! I'm currently playing through the Lego Star Wars series and Dead Head Fred on my PSP. One thing, make sure you get high quality headphones. There's a lot of crap on the market and after a while, your ears start to hurt. The headphones are strangely proprietary... which makes having multiple headphones necessary. Other than that, it's amazing.
