About Sophie Monet Jewelry:

I have created a series of ethereal wood jewelry made through a sculptural thought process instilled with the ambience of the natural environment as a material influence. Each piece is hand shaped using exotic wood, crystals, and gold leaf from around the world. These materials are especially unique and rare, making each piece one of a kind. My jewelry is a synthesis of my life. The wood represents my childhood in Los Angeles and what I have been surrounded by growing up whether it be palm trees or construction. While the gold and crystal represent New York’s metropolis of art deco mountains rising up out of the wood boxes. Together these elements make up Sophie Monet Jewelry. I sculpt the real out of my environment of my home, and the natural surroundings of both nature and of my family.

Just in time for our 2011 Earth Day celebration! Love your jewelry; both your website and lookbook give dimension and substance to the photos of your work. I am now trying to decide which piece to add to my wish list. ;-D
