Description
Supply and Demand: The Art of Shepard Fairey is an excellent look into the path Shepard took in becoming an artist and entrepreneur. Starting out with stickers and posters of "OBEY" the images began to cross the globe. It was a very interesting art experiment that is truly inspiring.

I picked up my copy of Graffiti World at the Brooklyn Museum. The book is probably one of the best collections of excellent graffiti pieces from around the world. The book also includes some information about the artists which was a nice touch.
If you are looking for a nice gift for somebody into the urban art or graffiti scene or just looking for some inspiration, pick up a copy of Graffiti World.

DJ Rap - Up All Night

While her name originally turned me off (DJ Rap), her newest album “Up All Night” definitely turned me on. I am a bit of an Electonica junky; House, Trance, Breakbeat, DnB (Drum & Bass), Downtempo, Broken Beat, Nu Jazz, you name it. DJ Rap’s new album is definitely in heavy rotation at the moment. The Drum and Bass she mixes isn’t hardcore, which is nice as I like a lot of the Drum and Bass elements; hard bass lines, sultry vocals, high BPM’s and the list can go on. DJ Rap has spun this album with a complicated soundscape that is mesmerizing. At one end, you have the high BPM’s (Beats Per Minute), then at the other end, the other layers are much more mellow, calm and soothing. Up All Night is a very intelligent DnB album. At times, the feeling I have been getting from it is best described as being the driver of a Formula 1 race car during a race and at the same time seeing everything going by you in slow motion.

Ahhh... Just picked up the new DIY for my new artistic fascination... Trexi, the 10 inch DIY. To my surprise, if you remove the top of Trexi's head, there is a 2 inch DIY Trexi ready to take control. The book is a great resource and inspiration for those who are either collecting designer vinyl or like myself, getting ready to start my own custom vinyls. Madvillain.... Man... First... MF Doom, then Madlib.... This is a very beat conscious album. For those who enjoy amazing turntablists and lyricist, this album is a must have. I am still blown away and have not stopped playing this album.
If you are a fan of Underground Hip Hop or more beat conscious and flow orientated Hip Hop, then you should really pick up this album. If you enjoy listening to artist like Wax Tailor, Madlib, Count Bass D, RJD2, Z-Trip or even Ugly Duckling, then you will definitely enjoy Madvillain.

So for Christmas, my amazing girlfriend got me a couple Munny Vinyl Toys so I can start my artistic Vinyl phase. I actually never new blank Vinyls existed and now that I have seen some of the amazing things people have done with them, they have become my new artistic fascination. This is the Munny 7 inch Series 2 (DIY Glow In The Dark). If you know somebody who is artistic and has a curiosity for the unusual "canvas", then you should definitely pick some of these up.
