Ron Regé Jr. - Against Pain

First to recommend

Description

Ron Rege Jr. deserves a hardcover anthology, wonderful!!

Against Pain is the first collection of multipage anthology pieces by Ron Regé, Jr. The storytelling side of his expressive work is featured in these comic strips gathered from McSweeney’s, The New York Times, Kramers Ergot, NON, Rosetta, Arthur, The Comics Journal, and Drawn & Quarterly’s anthology. Suicide bombers, art appreciation, a Lynda Barry “cover,” and even a Tylenol-sponsored comic about pain are brought together under the theme of suffering and how people cope with it. Against Pain also includes the alt-comics zine classic Boys:a twenty-two-page collaborative comic—considered by many to be Regé’s finest work—illustrating the “lust life” of a friend in explicitly honest and hilarious detail. It's the place I go to for my DM fix. In between tours, during tours, I'll pop in for a peek, exclusive interviews, buddy icons, and links out to whatever DM, or wallpaper from the 2009 "Tour Of The Universe" promotion.

Anthology: Musical Youth

First to recommend

Description

The youth of today has lots to say, so don't blame the youth. Yeah, "pass the dutchie by the left hand side", Musical Youth just pop out of the radio one day tickling ears across the globe with their Anime powered vocals and irresistible rhythms. There's just something trilling about their sound, kinda like the reggae version of the Jackson 5.

Catch a Fire: Bob Marley & The Wailers

First to recommend

Description

After all these years I still can't gent enough of Bob Marley & The Wailers. With Bob Marley there seems to be no end to the variations in recordings, and recordings of classic Wailers tracks, the 2008 reissue of "Catch a Fire" contains two more songs that the previous Deluxe Edition, but I'm not going to split hairs here, more is more.
