Grand Theft Auto IV for PS3

5 people recommended this item

Description

One of the greatest franchises in entertainment history keeps getting better. GTA III will always have a unique place in my heart because its myth is centered in the decade of the music and pop culture when I was in high school.

Such sentimental attachments aside, GTA IV is a better game in nearly every way imaginable. Go buy it now.

Vyper M2 Laptop Sleeve by booq

Description

Very rugged, very light, with room for a couple other misc pieces. Fits a 15" MacBook Pro perfectly and can handle drops from a reasonable height onto hard surfaces. Looks pretty cool too.

Discovery 925 - Black

Description

I've owned many crappy bluetooth headsets. With the new California driving law, I thought I'd spend some money and get a good one.

This Plantronics doesn't disappoint. Super clear, super light. Easily the best headset I've ever tried. Sounds much better than my iPhone's built in speaker. 70 bucks well spent.

Breaking the Spell: Religion as a Natural Phenomenon by Daniel C. Dennett

Description

Dennett is probably my favorite non fiction author- I enjoy both his subjects and style.

This is his latest book. Not too much new here for old Dennett fans, but a good read full of the kind of stories and twists on old ideas that his regular readers like me have come to love.

Belle-Vue Kriek

Description

Belle-Vue wheat and cheery beer. Awesome in the summer but hard to find. Try Father's Office in Santa Monica.

I know you asked for something not dark. This looks dark but it's a wheat beer so it should work.

Vizio VP504 50" 1080p Plasma

Guess where my economic stimulus check is going?

Big, bright, 1080p, all for about $1300 at Costco. I'm sure AV nerds would have something to complain about but for my needs, this is the perfect set.

Description

Like the title implies, pretty authoritative. It's almost too much information- I bet most people could get by on around 10 great BBQ recipes. But it's still a great book and it's pretty cheap (~$13) at Amazon.

Ombrelle with Mexoryl SPF 30 - 4oz: Health & Personal Care

3 people recommended this item

Description

I live in LA and surf a lot so a good sunscreen is required. Unless you want lizard neck like the dudes who hang out at Venice beach.

Anyway, I have various Ombrelle brand sunscreens shipped down from Canada because the Mexoryl formula in it is the most effective UVA filter available, but the FDA has not approved its sales in the USA.

It lasts pretty long in the water and isn't greasy. All around the best sunscreen I have found, and I've made a point of researching the topic pretty thoroughly.

All out of good ideas for father's day? There is nothing more manly then guns. The LA gun club is the ultimate father-son experience. Really.

Char-Broil 4-Burner Gas Grill with Sideburner

First to recommend

2 people recommended this item

Description

A good deal for an all stainless grill (about $250 at Home Depot). Where I live the salty sea air destroys grills every 6 months but this one seems to holding up.

48,000 BTU on the main grill, 13,000 on the side. I'd always thought side burners were useless until I had one- a worth while addition.
