We're the owners of CocoaVino, a Brooklyn-based company producing handcrafted chocolates made with organic, fair-trade, regional and sustainably produced ingredients and flavored with wines and liqueurs.
Alisha holds the Grand Diplôme in Pastry Arts from the French Culinary Institute, in New York, where she studied under the guidance of master chocolatier Jacques Torres. Avril is a graduate of the French Culinary Institute’s Fundamentals of Wine program, led by Master Sommelier Andrea Immer, and the Sommelier Society of America.
After years in international humanitarian aid and development, we made the leap from nonprofit activists to running an activist business — championing eco-forward and humanitarian ideals with style. Since launching in February 2005, we’ve used exclusively organic, fair-trade and sustainably produced ingredients in our chocolates and continually strive to be as green as possible — from using eco-friendly cleaners and purchasing 100% wind-generated electricity to shipping orders in 100% recycled materials boxes with 100% cornstarch, fully compostable and non-toxic packing peanuts.
