I’m a ‘green’ hotelier…My first hotel, The Ambrose in Santa Monica, is an award winning sustainable hotel – we take hotel conservation to the next level – it’s not just about not washing towels everyday but about changing everyday practices from the non-toxic products we use to clean the rooms, to a guest recycling program, back of house composting and clean energy credits to how our staff interacts with the guest to create a holistic experience for everyone.
For me, it’s about leaving the earth in a better place than it is today and for that we need to work, engage and enlighten – I’m actively involved with Global Green and the NRDC plus I surf so it is hard to forget about how important it is that we treat mother nature with respect – there is nothing worse than not being able to surf because of the pollutants flushed into the Santa Monica Bay after a big rain storm…
