Design junkie that loves contemporary design & the ocean

I've always been into design from a young age. My parents surrounded myself and siblings with design classics of the time - 60's/70's etc. A long term partner was a contemporary glass designer for one off pieces and main stream retail so I've had that influence also. I love all design whether ceramics, furniture, architecture but designs that can travel and are not just for the moment - though these can be fun too. I live in Brighton, England which if anyone knows Brighton will tell you, engenders a sense of design freedom and eclecticism. Love life - love design!

What is the next…

Purchase you’ll make?

Am looking at a beautiful 60's formica occasional table and when have the funds an Eames recliner. One day maybe Frank Lloyd Wrights house - Falling Water.

Trend in design?

A more serious move towards material combinations in high end design, woods/metals revealing a contemporary but tactile designs trend. Also in contrast a return to surface pattern design as seen from the 50's/60's.

Car you’d like to own?

Aston Martin or classic Merc convertible. I own an early shape SAAB convertible which I covert.

Big step you’d like to make?

Move blue sky design ideas into production.

Vacation you’ll take?

Caribbean or the Indian ocean.

Thing you’re going to fight for?

Equality and above all, the planet, I know it sound corny. Human arrogance and greed will kill us all.

Secret that’s going to leak?

The inadequacy of our world leaders in effectively curbing the practice and deceit of corporate globalisation.

Life you’ll lead?

One with passion for all things and for life itself without conflict. One with a sense of purpose and living it with conviction.

Fountain of youth?

Never forgetting that age is immaterial and above all being true to the child within.

The Road by Cormac McCarthy, a desperate tale of the human condition and a prophesy for us all!

Thing that will change the world?

Holding a conviction that we should take ownership for our actions and develop an inner belief and acceptance that our own values are not always those of others.
