Samsung's BlackJack II
First to recommend
5 people recommended this item
Description
Did you know that the Samsung Blackjack has been AT&T's #1 selling phone? The BJ's successor is sure to continue on that trend. Samsung's made some great improvements to #2. Consider:
- The extended 1700mA slim battery so that you no longer need that bulky backcover.
- 2MP camera
- Windows Mobile 6
- 3G Broadband
- Improved keyboard layout (and check the numbers...they're finally next to each other!)
A few other possible additions:
- GPS
- WiFi
Needless to say, this is going to make the Samsung Blackjack one of the top selling phones this holiday season

Osprey Transit Travel Couriers
First to recommend
Description
A non-traditional and stylish (esp. in Ruby Port Red, to match other new Osprey bags) alternative to the ubiquitous messenger bag, the Transit Courier Bag is the largest one of Osprey's series of three sizes: the Torque is a little smaller and the Spin is the smallest. The Transit will hold a 17" laptop computer(!), and the new (Fall '07) design offers a separate, hidden zipper to access it at airport security checkpoints. The cavernous main compartment has a totally waterproof zipper with longish pull tabs, and the lid has a couple of smaller pockets in it for tickets/incidentals. All Osprey bags have reinforced sidewalls and bottoms to allow them to be freestanding, for ease of loading/unloading. In addition to the sturdy top handle and comfy padded shoulder strap, both the Torque (which holds up to a 15" laptop!) and Transit offer a stabilizing chest strap to enable bike riding or trail running with a heavily loaded bag (28 liters or 1700 cu. in. worth!). Full Access Microfiber Classic Laptop Jacket for 17" Screen (Black)

Description
By means of the design of the zippers on this case, you can use the rear-mounted ports and connectors on most laptops with it still on, protecting it from falling off your lap in those uncomfortable airport chairs. (via Academic Superstore)

Outdoor Products Power Pack

Description
It may not be the best looking backpack of all time (best in black, I think), but the combination of the 18 organizational pockets (many of them labeled for specific items like USB cables and MP3 players); the removable CD/DVD holder and earphone pass-through; the large, padded and ventilated laptop pocket; and the unique pass-through for power bricks to allow device recharging in situ; make this the best laptop backpack I've ever run across. If it had (in addition to the provided sternum strap) a padded, stowaway hip belt to help balance the considerable load when full (nearly 3100 cu. in.!) and was made of heavier "ballistic" grade (higher denier) material, it would be just about perfect. As it is, it's still a great value at $65 or less. (via rei.com)

Harman Kardon GPS-300 Guide + Play portable navigation system
First to recommend
Description
Along with the new Garmin nuvi 200w Personal Travel Asisstant (which uses NavTeq maps), this so-called "Guide + Play" unit (which uses TeleAtlas maps) is the lowest-priced (i.e., under $300 retail price) 4.x" widescreen GPS unit for vehicles. And this one also plays MP3/WMA digital music files right off the SD or (4GB) SDHC card, meaning you don't need that iPod connected at the same time. Sweet! (via amazon.com)

Denon AVR-4308CI Audio-Video Receiver

Description
Denon makes fabulous equipment, always has. And unlike some mid- to high-end brands (Nakimichi comes to mind), Denon stuff is pretty reliable as well. And just look at the shot of the connections on the back of this bad-boy. If it doesn't do what you need done in your home theater, then what you need done probably isn't worth doing. Uh, like MR Hamr said, it's a cool alternative to a computer mouse with many handy uses. And now there's new, Windows Vista-compatible software available from Griffin's website. (via hamrhead)

Gary Fisher Wahoo

Description
Other than the crappy little pedals, there isn't much to criticize on this XC hardtail, other than the fact that it doesn't have the cachet of a $1500-and-up, full-suspension mountain bike, or the cool, exotic materials and featherweight construction of a $7500 titanium Moots (Da Bomb!). Note the so-called Genesis geometry that Mr. Fisher invented and is busy perfecting (G2) as a subsidiary now of monster bike-maker Trek. (via fisherbikes.com)

Coppertone Sport Sunblock Trigger Spray SPF 30

Description
The trigger spray makes it much Easier to apply Evenly and Efficiently. And the fact that it's a non-European, un-Exotic-sounding brand name means it's inExpensive, yet just as Effective. (via Keith Van Collins)
