I buy these in bulk and use them like paper towels. I don't feel guilty about taking up space in a landfilld.

Description
While it's sometimes a pain to pull my Cuisinart out of the cabinet, the versatility (not to mention time savings) of its multiple functions make it worth more what I paid for it over 10 years ago. Salad dressings are a snap to make (I make a double batch and refrigerate the rest for later). Slicing and shredding become fun tasks. I bought the entire collection of slicing and shredding disks and have never regretted it.

Forget the ground stuff in the can. You can buy a jar of peppercorns with the grinder built into it! No excuse for not having fresh ground pepper at hand.

Description
My sister is not into cooking equipment like I am. So when I cook at her house, I bring my own knife. A dull knife makes you work twice as hard and can slip resulting in nasty cuts.

Description
Get several pairs of tongs. Use them to toss salads and pasta, turn steaks, remove baked potatoes—you get the idea. They're also handy for retrieving things in tight spaces. I'm always dropping stuff between the stove and the refrigerator.

Description
Every kitchen should have one. I use mine to cook steaks, fish, eggs, and potatoes. Make sure it's pre-seasoned and you won't have to go through the multiple steps of seasoning one. With care and use, the pan will have the same qualities as a Teflon pan that costs 3 times as much!
