About Me

Allow me to tell you a story:

"In an apartment in Wembley Park, overlooking Wembley Stadium and Wembley Arena, a 21 year-old sits in her favourite reclining armchair, reading a book. She is, in simple terms, a gypsy. She travelled a great deal as a child and in the process, became obsessed with colours, culture, politics, history, food, arts, music, dancing, architecture and design, and of course, beauty.

Therefore her book, loses it's momentum. If only for a time.

She starts daydreaming and mentally accounts all the things she love, in brief detail:

1. Computers, gadgets and technology are her life - her favourites being the incredibly useful and advanced or the incredibly pointless but entertaining.

2. Films and television are another craze - a very discerning viewer as her favourites range from Stagate Atlantis to Poirot to Gossip Girl to Frasier to Black Adder to Doctor Who & Torchwood.

3. A fashion and clothes buff (though not so much about wearing but rather designing), which, naturally, incorporates cosmetics and skincare. When it comes to 'beauty', cruelty-free organic products are a must after all, chemicals and detergents are going not conducive to skincare because who wants to worry about botox and chemical peels when they get older. 'Age gracefully', she feels.

4. Not a huge fan of clothing accessories but hats, scarves and earrings are incredibly prominent in her collection.

5. 'Classic with a modern twist' is her motto whether in decor or otherwise but in reality, the only requirement (irrespective of product/scenario) is that there is either completely co-ordination or it's completely 'ecclectic' (ala Frasier's apartment). Consequently, decorating and designing interiors would be her ideal career.

6. By her bed, there lies a collection of catalogues (from beauty to departmen to homes) with the intention that she shall scrapbook her favourites, someday. Currently the Christmas catalogues are amiss as she loves the decorations at Christmas.

7. She loves food with a passion. She likes it fresh and freshly cooked. The concept of dieting is insane to her. Healthy bodies and healthy weights are not a product of 'skimmed' and 'half-fat' food products but exercising (which doesn't mean the gym but instead dancing and walking) while enjoying all foods, including (but not limited to) full-fat dairy and carbohydrates. Crisps and ready-meals are a no-no as are soft drinks or alcohol (though cooking with it poses no great difficulty).

8. As someone who belongs to the 'highly coveted' group of OCD sufferers, she also has hygiene, categorising and symmetry concerns. One could say that she is similar to Monica from Friends except that her variation is far more severe than Monica's as the OCD extends to decoration and air as well. Hence cleaning and organising products are amongst her best friends.

And as this pondering ends, she returns to the book."

That story, would be about me.

What is the next...

Purchase you’ll make?

Probably a light shade for my room in a blue variation of bottle green.

Trend in design?

Currently florals are everywhere so my guess the next lot of designs will be very geometric.

Car you’d like to own?

Smart Car. It's small and environmentally friendly - preferable on the roads of London.

Fad that will fade?

I want to say cameras in mobile phones but that's not going to happen. So the current crop of mullet-like hairstyles with 'funky' colours.

Fountain of youth?

A healthy lifestyle.

Book you’ll read?

Men! by Isabel someone or the other - I just find the stereotype about men (that I heard in a review praising her) ridiculous.

Thing that will change the world?

Goodwill and social responsibility.

Guilty-pleasure food in which you’ll indulge?

I don't believe food should ever be a guilty-pleasure.
