pelican avenue was founded in 2004 by carolin lerch, a graduate from the antwerp academy of fashion and former assistant of designer bernhard willhelm.

the label's intention is to question conventional codes of fashion, to propose a different approach, to avoid stagnation and complacency. pelican avenue tries to form an opposition to constantly changing trends and the destructive attitude of hypes.

each single design is determined by formal and personal reflections. the products have to reflect these ideas and still have to function as wearable clothes. the results are presented with different kinds of media like video, photography, installation, and performance.

pelican video is the supplying video and multimedia project, in cooperation with multi media artist michiel helbig.

the basic intention of the pelican projects as well as the produced pieces is rather challenging the unknown than developing one certain style or idea.

pelican avenue is representing on regular base at the paris fashion week. the labels work has also been shown during the fashion biennale 07 in arnhem, the 7fashion festival 07 in vienna, at arteleku in san sebastian, the W gallery in Antwerp, PARK in vienna

Grew up with these shoes when I was a kid. They are the real deal and truly the only viable alternative to Converse All Stars!

Manufactured in a tiny factory in Eastern Europe this sneaker survived on the market for 23 years without any redesign or alteration to its basic no-frills concept. Those were the days of a largely captive communist-era footwear market. The sneakers survived the arrival of western competition in the form of Nike, Reebok and Adidas, in the early 90s and the brand even took in its stride attempts by Asian producers to oust the model by producing cheaper copies. CEBOs have been manufactured until now without any interruption or any innovation. These classics are a real piece of footwear history.

For over 23 years CEBOs never changed their design. These sneakers are the real deal. CEBOs still have the actual rubber protection for your ankle bone. No cheap faux stitched-on patch. CEBOs are tough, cool, durable and best of all: they are ridiculously cheap.
