I really like this version from American Apparel -- a little less boring than your standard purple and white, but still really basic and would work with anything. I like the purple & black version best.

I totally know what you mean -- as if the giant laptop wasn't enough of a pain, most "women's laptop totes" weigh a ton and are hideous. I also strongly advocate putting the laptop in a soft-sided sleeve and then dropping it into whatever tote you happen to carry that day. The sleeves from Built NY are great - sturdy, nearly waterproof, and basically indestructable. Best yet - they weigh nearly nothing.

The open cardigan is a fantastic maternity staple. You can drape or wrap it to disguise a burgeoning belly, or let it hang open when you've popped and are feeling cute. It's very warm and very soft (comfort is key during this stage!), and the S/M or M/L sizing is very forgiving. Think of it as growing along with you.

OK, so I think this would look perfect in a modern room with bold walls. The leather is simple and classic, and sturdier than wood laminate or glass. The simple chrome legs would compliment almost any modern furniture, and yet the leather keeps this piece from looking too cold or cheap (frequent side effects of a budget "modern" decor). I've been looking for alternatives to the Chinese Laundry "Strate" boot made so popular last fall by Blake Lively's Gossip Girl legs. This looks like a winner! This boot comes in black and brown. I really like this frame from West Elm -- it's one of their earliest models, and there's a reason why it has stuck around. Holy cow! These phones are wicked expensive in Finland. If you're brave, you might try Googling for one in the U.S. -- merchants are selling them for under $800 US, which is significantly cheaper than the €890 Nokia had listed on their site. It is a neat phone, though, isn't it?

I'm not sure what your budget is, but this jacket from Lolë is a winner. It's super-stylish -- pretty much everything from this Canadian label is. I love that they do outdoorsy clothes that are still modern and stylish. It has an extra-thick waterproof lining that will keep you dry and warm. It comes in black, too, in case the blue is too casual for you.
