Punk music is one of my favorite things about the 70s, and any self-styled punker out there was wearing Doc Martens. The company was vilified for closing their UK-based production factories and moving them to cheaper, third-world nations a few years ago, but apparently they've regained their senses...more and started producing Docs in the UK again.
These boots look great... and all of a sudden, I'm nostalgic for ripped acid-washed jeans and black jean jackets and thick silver chains. What, you thought I was going to recommend a leisure suit just because this is included in a list of 1970s stuff?
"I used to love Doc's, back when I loved Nirvana and bad little skater boys too... And now Doc's are back! Reintroduced with studs and all... and don't Doc's and Alexander Wang just go hand in hand? It's like peanut butter and jelly..."
"I am absolutely head-over-heels in love with these boots. They're super shiny and the leather/foil is soft like buttah. These boots will go with almost anything. A wonderful addition to my closet!"
"Dr. Martens are sturdy, fashionable and they last forever. They're not just the chosen shoe for punks and gen-x misanthropes anymore, those people have grown up, and now they want some style too.
These boots are sleek, well made and they carry the trademark Dr. Martens quality."
"The Doc Martens smith asymmetric boot is cool, sleek and sexy.
Not only is it well made, it blends with almost any wardrobe choice. It's unique enough to differentiate you from "the fashion drones" but professional enough to fit in with almost any workplace."
