Chie Mihara - Jeweled T-Strap Sandals
First to recommend
Description
Okay, these are probably the wackiest shoes I have bought in a long time. For some reason, they captivated me when I first saw them few months ago. It was like they were so ugly they were cute. I am still not loving the ostrich, which always reminds me of a skin disorder, but as soon as these went on sale I jumped. I am not completely positive I will keep them, but they are damn comfortable, just like all Chie Miharas, and they look hot on, so we'll see....

Argh. I knew I should have waited till this went on sale. Oh well, I do love it, and I think it's one of those things that will maintain its interest for a while. So even if I get tired of it in two years, I can put it away for a few seasons, then take it out and fall in love with it all over again. There are two best parts about it: 1) It has pretty much every color in the world in it, so it will match lots of tops, and 2) it's great with sandals and a tank as a summer piece, but in the fall, it will be terrific with tights and boots.

3.1 Phillip Lim Tiered Ruffle Pencil Skirt

This looks way different—I daresay better—on me than it does on this model. It's not as short, and I wouldn't tuck in a top, but rather wear it with something kind of loose and blousy. What I like about it is the thick, double-knit stretchy fabric. It's sturdy and tight, yet comfortable, like I imagine it might feel to wear Spanx. Translation: very flattering! I bought it at Pas de Deux on East 11th Street.

Not too big, not too small, and beautifully finished. I'll definitely keep them forever.

Marc Jacobs Rana Pouch

Description
I got this back in April but I didn't remember to post it until now. I was reading some bag blogs and there were many mixed feelings about this bag, with some saying it was a sign MJ had gone over the deep end. Well, sometimes I think he has too, but this terribly chic bag is not evidence of it. In fact, I think this pouch is one of those quirky pieces that's timeless in its uniqueness. It was never trendy and thus will never look completely out of style. I'm mad for the gold frog with its violet crystal eyes (my friend Amber dubbed it "Elizabeth," as in Taylor). I only wish the clasp was easier to open. It's a real bitch.

Cole Haan Peyton Air Booties

Description
I haven't worn these yet, so I can't attest to their comfort. But since they have built-in Nike Air technology I can only assume they are as close as 3-inch heels will ever get to sneakers.
I like how they are almost nerdy looking. All the better to contrast with tights and a lacy tulip skirt.
They were actually on sale on Saks.com, so the Cole Haan store gladly matched the price.

Elsa Peretti for Tiffany round earrings in rock crystal with diamonds and platinum

Description
I love my new Elsa Peretti for Tiffany earrings. What you can't tell from the picture is that the disc is completely clear rock crystal (they also come with discs of turquoise and black onyx, as well as an all-gold version).
That means they'll match anything.

Loeffler Randall Matilde Flat Wedge Leather Boot

Description
I just got these last week at Bergdorf's. I'm not positive yet that I'll keep them--I don't want to make a premature boot commitment so early in the season. So I plan to stop back at BB's in a week or two to see if they got anything in that I like better.
But based on the fact that I bought a pair of Loefller Randalls two years ago that are almost identical to these, except for a 3-inch stacked wood heel, and that I thoroughly loved them except that I sometimes wished they had no heel, I think I may end up really loving these.
They are a dark purply-gray that will look good with brown, black, navy and more.

Tiffany Metro ring with diamonds in 18k rose gold.

Description
When it comes to diamonds, bigger isn't always better. I love this ring because it's as thin as can be and super delicate. You can barely even tell it's rose gold except for when the light hits it just so. And even though the diamonds are tiny, they're very sparkly. I wear it everywhere and never take it off.

Hermes H-Our Watch

Description
I would not buy this watch today—I am saving my money for things like real estate. But ten years ago when I purchased it (except with a strap in green, my favorite color) a) it only retailed for $975 or thereabouts and b) I had a boyfriend who worked at Saks. They had this fantastic thing called the "friends and family discount," wherein I, as most certainly more than a friend, but definitely less than family, received 40% off anything in the store (including sale items). I did some damage in those days. But the amazing part is, with the exception of the Gucci bag that I purchased for $400 (can you believe Gucci bags were under $700 ten years ago?) and sold on eBay, I still wear the other items—a suit from a Michael Kors diffusion line that no longer exists, some Philosophy di Alberta Ferretti linen pants, and of course, the Hermes watch—on a regular basis. You may try to befriend someone who works at Saks, but I'm pretty sure they changed the rules, i.e. Hermes is no longer included.
