Which is exactly where I picture this Marc by Marc Jacobs printed dress being worn.
One wide strap and one thinner strap form a flattering V-neck, meeting in a fabric flourish at the bust. And in genius Marc Jacobs-style, the empire cut of this mini dress breathes into a gathered skirt with hidden side pockets.

As practical as it is pretty, I'd totally wear this on more than occasion.

I'm all about yellow for spring/summer 2008. And February 14th doesn't exactly count as spring, but it's close enough.

This Victoria's Secret dress is more sweet than sexy, which is a refreshing twist for V-Day. All ruffles and a deep scoopneck in the front, flowing down to a hemline cut above the knee (the dress skirt falls 19-inches), this soft yellow sheath is effortlessly elegant.

And it's a sweet alternative to red, pink, or even black.

100% silk, this dress is just as soft and luxurious as it seems. Strapless with a banded top, I heart this Robert Rodriguez dress, for real!

Such a simple shape -- though this sheath is anything but with diagnal pintucked seams, cascading tiers of rose petal-like ruffles, and a hidden zipper.

How perfect for Valetine's!!

Imported from France, Guerlain's sensual Shalimar parfum is such a wonderful scent; I mostly smell florals and vanilla -- others smell something slightly stronger.

BUT, no matter what you think when you smell it, Shalimar is a very romantic parfum.

Which works perfectly on such a very romantic day.

This is my letter to the world: Everyone with any interest in American poetry should at least peruse this book.

Now available -- conveniently -- in one volume, the Life of Emily Dickinson is the culmination of almost twenty years' research by Richard B. Sewall.

It reads almost as easily Dickinson's work.

My suggestion? Gift it for that special someone, and make this Valentine's Day as unique as Emily was.
