About Me

Based in London, we are designers of Isabella Oliver that oozes brilliant, and has since become home to two fabulous women’s wear collections. Mixing the classic with contemporary; the Isabella Oliver 365 collection provides multitasking ready-to-wear, whilst the Isabella Oliver maternity collection features silhouettes loved by the A-list - style for wherever life may take you.

With five pregnancies between us—company creators Vanessa Knox-Brien and Baukjen de Swaan Arons—we only sell clothes we have designed, created, worn and fallen in love with.

When we were both expecting for the first time, we became friends and our babies, Isabella and Oliver, arrived within weeks of each other.

We were really frustrated by the complete lack of stylish maternity wear. Clothes were too fussy or plain awkward.

It seemed ridiculous that we couldn't find maternity wear alternatives to the clothes we loved and knew worked perfectly for us.

As a result our new 'baby' - the Isabella Oliver brand - was born a few months later in 2003. Given our backgrounds—Vanessa was previously a head designer at Victoria’s Secret, Baukjen’s brand and product management skills were gained at blue chip companies such as Procter and Gamble and Orange—it's no surprise that Isabella Oliver has fast become a maternity wear collection that completely keys into what modern women want, worn and loved in both London and Hollywood.
