For this recommendation: Eco-Me Home Kit Starter Set.

Awesome set! Here's another great eco set, with a different assortment of products: http://www.thisnext.com/item/6EC567B6/6E70D04A/The-Green-Starter-Gift-Kit

The Future is Green

I launched helter-skelter into the hard-hitting world of journalism when my caterwauling failed to impress the directors of my high-school choir and I resigned myself to writing for the school newspaper, instead. (I knew I should have gone with "On My Own.")

After earning my bachelor's degree in animal biology, I went on to graduate from New York University with a master of science in biomedical journalism and a dependency on heavily caffeinated beverages. Several national newspapers, magazines, and Web sites later, I now cover sustainability and the environment at TreeHugger.com. I also have one of those blog things that the kids today won't stop yammering about.

What is the next…

Purchase you’ll make?

Peanut Butter Panda Puffs organic cereal.

Trend in design?

Sustainability, natch.

Car you’d like to own?

I don't know how to drive, which is just as well, because I prefer to walk. If I ever moved away from the eminently public-transport-friendly New York City, however, and end up having to put pedal to the metal, I'd like one of those all-electric Smart cars in fire-engine red.

Big step you’d like to make?

Taking sustainability to the mainstream. Maybe start an eco-friendly yarn and fabric store. Oh wait, that's two.

Fad that will fade?

Please God let it be Crocs.

Vacation you’ll take?

California to see the in-laws for Thanksgiving. Beyond familial visits, we don't vacation much, if at all.

Thing you’re going to fight for?

Take your pick—I write to my representatives several times a week, whether it's about global warming, animal cruelty, public health, or the need for tougher conservation laws.

Secret that’s going to leak?

That Fergie of the Black Eyed Peas is really a man.

Hollywood blockbuster going to be about?

Either explosions or elves. No wait, _exploding elves_. That's the ticket.

Life you’ll lead?

Are we talking about reincarnation? I want to come back as a pampered house cat—man, they have it good.

Fountain of youth?

Didn't David Copperfield claim he has it? I can see it now: "First he made the Statue of Liberty disappear, your wrinkles are next."

Book you’ll read?

Angelica by Arthur Philips. The blurb says it's reminiscent of "classic horror tales as The Turn of the Screw and The Haunting of Hill House," which made me pee my pants.

Thing that will change the world?

Hemp—we can use it for everything, whether it's paper, textiles, food, or fuel. The United States just needs to get over those draconian drug laws that were created as part of some political agenda anyway.

Guilty-pleasure food in which you’ll indulge?

Ben & Jerry's New York Super Fudge Chunk, baby.

Person to whom you’ll say, “I love you”?

My husband, awww.
