Being a mom opens up a whole new door in jewelry gifting land. The "push present"? Never heard of it until I was preparing to, well, PUSH. And once I got wind that such a thing existed, you better believe I wanted one. A BIG one. Take it from me, no matter what the gift, it doesn't come close to being enough of a thank you for all the joys of being preggo and then the extra special experience of getting that damn kid out. Hello THREE DAYS of labor. There are those that will say the gift is your heavenly little child.
True. But there is nothing wrong with some bling to go along with the bundle of joy.
I love this necklace. It's subtle and doesn't scream - having a baby has stolen all my sense of style (i.e. pastel and diamond baby booty hanging around neck? Puleez.)

I recently went on holiday with a fellow new(ish) mom when I found myself in major "bag lust".

She had a bag that did the seemingly impossible. It spanned both "worlds" i.e. Mommy-Land and I'm Still a Grown Up Land.
This magic item could hold all of baby's essentials without appearing as though you were carrying the world along with the kitchen sink, on your shoulders.
Then, miraculously, in the evening, this very same bag would transform into a hip, "I don't need logos or labels because I'm THAT cool" bag.

This bag is a must have for anyone constantly on the lookout for something that everyone else doesn't already own. It's currently sold out but rumor has it that the spring collection will have a fresh crop (including a black version which will be my choice).

These Bottega earrings are the kind of thing you wear every day. They're classic with a little luxury twist. I've had a photo of them taped to our fridge for almost a year now. I don't think my husband is getting the hint. Or rather, he's ignoring it.

Description

This lotion has been my standby since I fell it love with it (or rather, the snowboarder who used it) eons ago.
The snowboarder didn't last long - but my obsession with Skin Trip has. It's light, but moisturizes better than anything else I've tried. The scent reminds you of a day at the beach, but isn't so strong you smell like you've gone swimming in a vat of Pina Coladas. And finally, I love it's slightly "crunchy", mom & pop origins.
I also used their "Mother's Special blend" when I was preggo. Not sure if it is luck or the oil, but I didn't get one stretch mark.

Why else would most women I know own more jeans than they could wear in one calendar year? Or enough lip gloss to keep their lips smacking into the next century? Then there are those things that, quite simply, you JUST DON'T NEED no matter how you spin it. But you want them, you really, really do...
