About Me

I successfully managed my own pediatric therapy practice until I realized I had more fun than my clients while coloring with the crayons. I decided to return to my creative roots and combine my passion for ecology with my love of design. While researching sustainability for many years, I also studied fashion design and creative media at the Fashion Institute of Technology and Parson’s School of Design.

I've worked as a stylist and consultant on photo and commercial shoots and, in 2005, launched an online project exploring sustainability and style. The project, fiftyRX3, has been well received and I'm frequently asked to consult on the topic of eco-fashion. I've been interviewed by media outlets, ranging from NYLON magazine to The Wall Street Journal, and I've spoken on sustainability in the fashion industry at the Fashion Institute of Technology and o2, an international green design organization. Additionally, I've created a segment on style and sustainability for treehuggerTV and currently contribute as fashion editor to the popular green design website, Inhabitat.

I hold degrees from the University of Kansas and Columbia University’s College of Physicians and Surgeons.
