I love the idea of referencing nature with the lighting in your home. There's something calming about this dandelion lamp, that makes your place just a little more natural than a more traditional lamp would. (via productdose)

Here's a fun way to add a little light to your place. These have a nice, soft, soothing glow, which is great. But more importantly, they look like yo-yos. I'm not sure what could possible be cooler. (via Damn I Like That!)

OK, this bench is $3500. But it is amazing. I love the design, I love the rounded shape (for more comfortable seating), and I love the fact that the designer who created it only makes sustainable furniture. I would be ecstatic to have this in my home. (via productdose)

Granted, this is a little more work than a regular lamp, but it runs without being plugged into the wall -- which is awesome! Keep it around if the power goes out often, or if you're a particularly eco-concious person, who'd like to reduce their energy consumption. (via gearfuse)

If you live in a house, with a yard, this would probably be a little pointless -- but for you uber-urban dwellers, here's a way to get a little green inside the house. Honestly, the real reason to get this is 'cause it looks cool, and is a much sleeker look than houseplants. Trust me, we tried houseplants in our current place, and it looks like an unkempt mess. This is the way to keep nature inside without it screwing up your entire aesthetic. (via productdose)

I suppse this technically could be a drawing of two people, instead of two guys, so anyone can use it -- but I'll leave that decision up to you. Whatever your domestic arrangement, I love the look. It's a way to keep warm for winter without pulling out the freaky-looking blankets from the 1960s. (via productdose)

As I've mentioned before, it can be incredibly difficult to find furniture that feels a little classical, while still maintaining a modern sensibility. After all, no one wants to live in grandma's house or some futuristic space pod. This storage set from Wonk finds the perfect balance. (via Apartment Therapy)

Description
With the little things that you're more or less required to purchase for your home (like pillows, for instance), there's a tendancy to get any old thing, just to meet the need. If you want to live in a well-decorated pad, avoid this temptation. Waiting to purcahse stuff like this until you find pieces that really speak to you (and fit in with your design aesthetic) will make a huge difference in the overall look of your place. This is fun, versatile (as you can choose the amount of light you'd like), and just a little bit cheeky. Besides, who doesn't want a lamp that's squeezable? Only, because you don't get too excited, or squeeze it too much in front of your significant other. You wouldn't want anyone getting jealous. (via NOTCOT)

Even if you're no longer living it up in you swanky bachelor pad, I think it's important to have a least one or two pieces that say: "a man lives here." Depending on her taste, she probably won't let you keep it in the living room, but for your basement getaway, your office, or your home theater/media Mecca, this piece will add a touch of style and sophistication. So, they change colors just like those mood rings you used to play with as a kid! (via Shiny Shiny)

We're about to move into a new place and start painting all the walls. I'd love -- especially in the kitchen and my kid's room -- to have a little decoration on the walls, but if I try to paint anything it'll turn out awful ('cause let's be honest, I'm no artist).

This one's for the dads out there who still have a sense of style and want their house to look cool. The "Dad Pillow" is fashioned out of button down shirts, and other old-fashioned dad stuff, which a) is clever, and b) is a way cooler accessory for your couch than some lame throw pillow. Description
As I've mentioned before, lighting is a hugely important part of how any room will come together. That's why this piece from HansFranz is so exciting. The shape is delightfully modern, but the curve takes the edge off, making it feel much warmer and more intimate than what you'd find with similar pieces.
It'd be perfect behind whatever chair you sit in to chill out, read, and rest. (via Apartment Therapy)

Modular Shelving

Description
If it looks cool and helps you store your stuff, I'm a fan. Modular shelving is especially cool, because it lets you customize just how much storage space you actually need.
A possible drawback to this shelving from Jeff Miller is that it's open -- which, cool as it seems, can often make you feel like you're living in more clutter than you actually are (just because you can see it all the time).
But for an office, laundry room or kids' room, this would be perfect. (via Apartment Therapy)

Chances are you don't live in a home with a fireplace -- or, if you do, you rarely go through the hassel of using it. In fact, I think the only time I've ever seen a real-live fireplace in action is on Christmas at my parents house.
This is a much easier way to get the ambience of a fire in your living room. Perfect for the modern home or urban loft! (via Apartment Therapy)

Description
It might seem superfluous, but it's the little things that set apart truly inspired inerterior design from that which looks cool -- but, in the end, feels a little uninspired.
That's where these trash bags come in. You might not give it a second though, but black trash bags make your house look like a industrial center, and if you have white bags hanging out all over the place, I immediately think: "cafeteria."
So add a little color and fun to the room. (via swissmiss)

Alright dudes, this one's for you. Anything in stylish brown leather says: "I'm the most-sucessful bachelor you know," so if that's the impression you're trying to make, this is perfect.
Plus, you can store stuff inside. Useful for wine glasses and a bottle of red for a smooth transition into the romantic part of the evening -- or a good quick to cram all the unwashed clothes you left all over the living room just before she showed up unanounced. (via productdose)

Getting a bedside lamp will change the way you fall asleep. I used to think it was no big deal to get up out of bed, turn out the overhead light, then crawl back in, but now that would feel like I was living in the Stone Age.
Only problem is, most bedside lamp make your room look like Gandma and Grandpa's house.
This LED Leaf Lamp is the solution. It'll like the room and look exceptionally cool. (via Apartment Therapy)
