Burton Bullet Tool

Description
This has become my favorite pocket snowboarding tool (I've tried a few).
The Burton Bullet's best feature is its ratcheting head, which adjusts for screwing, unscrewing, or just plain off. The small, green flip-top compartment holds #2 and #3 Phillips screwdrivers as well as a flathead, #4 Allen key and a 10mm wrench. The black handle is extendable so you can get the best position to work with.
This is extremely well made - the bits fit just right into all the usual snowboarding gear. It makes adjusting my Burton Custom's stance a breeze. Plus, it's currently on sale for less than $9 - a real steal for such a useful tool.

Description
Si-Pi is a Swiss brand that manufactures helmets, eyewear, goggles and the like for winter sports. Their products are extremely well made and thought-out.
I have the Si-Pi Shark Attack Ski/Snowboard helmet and love it. It fits my head perfectly. it has a sliding latch to adjust the amount of air reaching your head. It's got a padded chin-strap with an adjustable cinch for a perfect fit, as well as a cinch in the back to ensure the helmet stays where it needs to be. Not to mention the wicked cool styling. Perfect.
They are hard to find in the USA. I would recommend looking online for them, as they are excellent products.

Description
While major repairs should be left to the experts at the shop, you can do all the minor things yourself with just a handful of tools and some knowledge. For example, waxing your board is an easy job that keeps your ride speedy and smooth.
DaKine does the first bit of work for your, mainly, getting all the tools. Their Deluxe Kit includes:
# Edge tuning tool
# 10-inch file
# Wire file cleaning brush
# Metal scraper
# 10-inch wax scraper
# Pocket stone
# P-tex (2)
# All temp wax
# Scatchbrite pad
There are also instructions on how to use said items. It's always good to search the internet for expert advice though.
A great way to to keep your snowboard in shape, and a good gift for the involved snowboarder.

Description
The legendary Custom (a do anything, go anywhere board) - My new board! Besides the über-cool graphics, it has the Infinite Channel Sytem, Burton's new binding design that allows stance angle and width to be adjusted with the turn of a screw.
It's great for playing around with your board, and good for beginners too - helping them find "their" sweet spot, and to play around till they get it.
Great board, cool design, great technology and an OK price - a win win!
You're still wondering how I got that umlaut up there, aren't you? :)

DaKine Board Cord Leash

Description
Though they're required at most US resorts, I never understood the need for a leash - I mean you're strapping in anyway, right?
Well, take my brand new, runaway snowboard to prove me wrong. Thankfully the trail was clear and it ran into a snowbank and stopped. Whew!
Avoid my fate by getting this leash. What's nice is its urethane construction - this gives it a solid, plastic quality. You'll always see where it is and it's easy to grab, as it sticks out dutifully awaiting your boots. No more tangled shoelace leashes.

DaKine Clutch Stomp Pad

Description
Sory for all the snowboard related posts. I'm on a ski/snowboard trip :)
While purists may scoff at their use, a stomp pad is a necessity for getting off chairlifts (SAFELY) and skating on flat or slightly angled terrain. The DaKine Clutch's looks are deceiving - it's quite narrow, and most other pads have more surface area. However, I've found the combination of boot catching, projecting spikes and the molded plastic ridge in the middle provide an excellent grip. More importantly, I've found that it keeps your boots on the board firmly, even if you only step on a part of it or at weird angles.
All in all, a very good stomp pad, and one I would recommend to beginners.

DaKine Cam Lock

Description
It's always better to lock your stuff up when leaving things in public areas. The DaKine Cam Lock is a solid ski/snowboard lock (though it can be used on anything from computer monitors to bikes).
Its wire is thicker than most other locks in this category, and it has a 4 digit combination lock, as opposed to a measly three. (This way, thieves will have to try 10K number combinations as opposed to an easy 999 :D )
The 'cam' feature allows you to loop the wire, and the lock, over itself, allowing you to secure awkwardly shaped items (snowboards come to mind). Comes in a nice pouch that's easy to carry around.

K2 Raider Boa

Description
No, you don't need the 4 pairs of snowboard boots I recommend. But it would be cool. The K2 Raider Boa boots are an outright steal at $169. Besides getting the amazing Boa system (a quick turn of the dial and you're set!) the Raider is an extremely flexible, comfortable and supportive boot.
The synthetic-leather and rubber shell contains a bootie made out of some great foam - super comfy and it conforms to your feet. After tightening the boa wheel, you'll find you still have extreme range of motion (great if you do tricks or like park riding) while the boot keeps your ankles firmly locked down. Impressive.
A great all-around boot, without too many frills, and if you haven't tried it already, a great boot to get to give the boa system a whirl.

ThirtyTwo Focus Boa Snowboard Boot
Updated Jan 3, 2008

Description
Wow. This is seriously one of the highest quality snowboard boots I've ever seen.
Thirty Two specializes in lightweight gear, and this boot is no exception. I don't know the exact weight but I can guarantee you it's much lighter than any other Boa boot, and probably lighter than most stiff lace-ups. This makes it so much more comfortable to wear all day.
The Focus is packed with high-tech, useful features. It's inner liner is like a marshmallow dream - conforming to the slightest contour of your foot. It has a standard pull up lace for the inner boot, but it locks at the ankle, for greater lock-down. There is a sturdy, velcro calf strap to secure that area. Best of all are the two (2!) Boa lacing wheels. The side one, which you tighten first, secures the lower and ankle portions of the boot. The top straps you in for all the rest.
The result is an extremely comfortable, minutely customizable fit. It may be a little pricey, but I think it's worth it.

Description
Top of the line storage, protection and travel solution for your winter-sports gear. The Burton Wheelie can hold 2 boards, including the bindings. There is room for a pair of boots as well. All your gear is protected by a nice layer of padding. It has a padded leather arm strap for carrying it around town and a fine set of wheels for rolling it through endless airports.
I keep my board, ski's (the sacrilege!) and boots for both in this bag and it works great. Comes in 160 and 181 centimeter sizes for bigger or smaller boards, and multiple colors as well. I have the one pictured, which is called 'Roasted'.

Description
Eider is a French company that makes superior gear for extreme conditions. All of their jackets are streamlined, waterproof, windproof and breathable. They sport sleek designs and cool features you won't find anywhere else.
I have a similar jacket to the one pictured above. It has clear plastic side windows on the removable hood for better peripheral vision. All the zippers are seam sealed. The jacket even has specific pockets to neatly store away the hood, your gloves, etc. They come with snow skirts and neoprene-like hand straps to ensure no snow gets in and ruins your day.
I highly recommend any winter jacket from this company.

Description
If you have a slightly smaller/narrower face than the average Joe or Jane, finding a good pair of ski/snowboard goggles can be tough. Luckily, Alpina, a fine European winter sports brand, makes excellent all-around goggles sized just right for this demographic.
The Remtitan is designed for smaller faces and has a lower profile. It has strategically placed openings that keep snow out but prevent fog from forming. Their Quatroflex technology blocks 100% of UV rays. It comes in multiple colors as well.

Description
Ah, the legendary Burton Custom. It's legendary for a reason. The custom is a super high-quality though not overpriced board that can do whatever you want wherever you are. It's perfect for intermediate snowboarders and more advanced ones who want a board they can use down the slopes or in the park.
They come in a few different versions at different price levels. You don't need the most expensive one. Find the mid-range one and get it if you want a board that will work for you and last for a long time.

DC Allegiance Snowboard Boot
Updated Nov 6, 2007
-

Description
DC - A solid snowboarding gear company, makes these expensive but worth it snowboard boots. If you're still stuck tying laces, you owe it to yourself to get a par (any pair) of boots with the BoA lacing system.
BoA is simply a dial you turn to tighten the boot - while you turn, it tightens steel cables around your foot, for a secure and comfortable fit. Ten times easier than struggling with laces - you'll be in them in 30 seconds, max. When it's time to leave the slopes, a quick pull forwards releases all the tension in the cables.
The DC Allegiance ups the ante by adding a second BoA dial on the side for added control and better heel hold-down. In Germany they call these the 'Doppel Boa'. This top o the line DC also has an adjustable air bladder (like air pump sneakers!) to customozie the fit around your ankles.
