I have always used regular PVC mats, but learned they are REALLY bad for the environment (create dioxin, phalates (ancer causing)) Found this natural rubber mat, harvested from trees and biodegradable, even the inner mesh. It is so AWESOME! The grip is far better than any mat I've used and the cushion is beyond comparison its 5/16" thick and very dense (good for standing poses), I no longer have to fold over my mat for more padding. Both sides of the mat are to be used so it will last twice as long and has 2 colors, one for each side. It is heavier and its more expensive but sooooooooo worth it. Also less repositioning because the Divine mat is 75 inches long...extra nice. (via a yoga friend-teacher)
