When I feel like there has to be a more efficient, productive way to do something that I'm working on, I check here first. Usually there's at least one relevant article. Most of the software reviews are for the mac, but don't let that stop you. :)

Plus, it's the birthplace of the hipster PDA--the low-tech product for high-productivity. It doesn't have enough buttons for a technophile like me, but it's a great invention nonetheless. I know several people who rely on them.

Microsoft Office OneNote 2007

Description

A great tool for writing notes, organizing ideas, and keeping all your loose ends in one place. I don't have a tablet PC, but still use this constantly. It's my scratch pad, my to do list, my research scrapbook and more. What else? It's able to sync my notebooks between multiple machines, so I never lose my ideas.

Step 1: Throw away that book of mixed drink recipes
Step 2: Fill cooler with bottles of booze and mixers
Step 3: Hook up computer
Step 4: Click on what drink you want
Step 5: Drink up and enjoy!
Step 6: Go to step 4

Any gadget that mixes computers with alcohol instantly gets my vote. I will own one someday, you mark my words. (via news.com)

DaysAgo Digital Day Counter

Description

Another good gadget (Phil will be happy), especially for first time parents. Digital readers you can set and attach to baby food jars, so you never have to guess if food is old or not. No good to waste anything now-a-days, you know?

Rockstar Juiced

First to recommend

Description

It's flavored with orange, mango, and passionfruit juice. Unlike many energy drinks, you can actually tell. Delicious, and it packs the mega dose of caffeine you expect.

Note it's a little on the sweet side, so be prepared to add a lot of ice... or vodka. Mmm.

Wild Turkey Rare Breed

Description

Incredibly smooth, even though it's a barrel-strength bourbon (108.4 proof). If you prefer your bourbon cold, try sticking it in the freezer instead of adding ice. Very tasty stuff at a reasonable price.

Crate&Barrel Single Malt Glass

First to recommend

Description

A hefty glass that makes your favorite 10-year taste even better. The walls are thicker than standard glasses, which provide a more pleasurable sipping experience.

This is one of my very favorite pieces of barware.

Creative MuVo V100 MP3 Player

First to recommend

Description

Small, lightweight, simple, and quite handy. There are no cables to plug in and there is no special software required to manage your music. Pull the USB key portion out of the body (which contains the single AAA battery) and pop it into your computer. Then simply drag and drop a gigabyte or two of music. Or, put some documents onto it. Anything. The MuVo ignores non-music files, so it doubles as a regular USB memory key. It also has a built-in mic for voice recording. (via anton s.)

HeadRoom Total BitHead Headphone Amp

First to recommend

Description

You bought the nice headphones for your MP3 player or computer, but you're not hearing everything properly yet. Sure--it all seems fine, but you'll notice a big improvement in sound quality with a real (albeit miniature) power amp driving your tunes.

Connects via audio cable to your MP3 player or via USB to your computer (bypassing your built-in sound card entirely). Needs four AAA batteries if not drawing power from your computer.
