Description
Sititng with my husband and our pets on the couch watching Spike Lee's Katrina documentary, we started talking about emergency preparedness. We don't live on the coast, but we do live in tornado country and we're not really prepared. Should we have to pick up and leave on short notice, we wouldn't even have enough carriers to get all three animals in the car.
This weekend we're going to make a list of what we could do to prepare ourselves. These backpacks seem like a good place to start. (via Michelle Singleterry)

My husband got one of these (in black) as a birthday present last year. We put whole beans in at night and set the timer to have fresh coffee ready for us in the morning. Easy to use, easy to clean. Makes good coffee, too -- assuming you put good beans in.
