    I totally agree on the carnation thing. And I dislike those little week flowers people plant around their house. Every time I look at them I wonder why people don't plant a big clump of them together and leave 'em go- instead of spreading out like 20.

    Lilli, Thank you for finding our "Sam's Chair" and your kind comments on its design but, as the maker of these elegant and indestructible chairs I must admit the influence for their design was not Shaker. Actually, I retrieved a discarded Danish chair from the dump and tossed most of it in my firewood box save for one of the back legs. I liked the curve and the rest of the chair more or less presented itself to us in the design and building of the prototypes. So, it is heavily inspired by Scandinavian design, rich in sparseness (like the Shaker chairs we build), but more modern with ergonomic elements built in!     Lillian, i thought i was the only one that noticed the bevy of bow tie blouses and what they added to "the secretary" my mom was an executive back in the day and she also wore them as part of her dynasty / dallas esq 80's power suit. -- as a chap i wear a tie a lot and wished more ladies embraced the bow tie-- chow :)
