Description

Of course, instead of a dress I could always wear a skirt and cute little polo to play tennis. I like this tennis skirt, because it's a little bit longer on the leg (it is a sport, not a club) and has a nice standard styling. Usually I don't mind being daring, but when it comes to tennis (and my other traditional sister, golf) I like to play it conservative.

Description

My hair isn't long and it isn't blond and I've never dated a gorgeous man named Enrique. But I feel a little like Anna Kournikova when I hit the tennis court in this dress. Sporty enough to fit for tennis but with a enough joie de vive to be just plain fun to wear. Like a sporty butterfly this dress flutters, flits and swishes around as you play.

Description

It may be covered in snow right now, but one of my favorite things about the house I'm in right now is the fact that it's about a block and a half from tennis courts. Tennis is just so fun, yes it's exercise, but it's also pretty and it's also about friends and it's also about just everything summer. I like the low cut of these adidas tennis shoes. And I'll be staring at their pivot point until the sun melts and I'll be able to it to the court.

Jhana Luxury Cardio Shoes

Description

My running shoes, while I love them, always feel so clunky when in kickboxing class. Maybe I should look at the sleeker city cousin to my running shoe, the cardio shoe. These burgundy cardio shoes from adidas wouldn't work for running, but inside the studio when I'm fighting imaginary opponents, or in any other of multiple of fusion classes. I like the faux asian inspired pattern on the fabric along with...the shiny shiny nature of the silver.

Description

I'm starting to wear holes in both pairs of my athletic shoes, right near the pink toe. In short, I need to break down and enter in the long process to find the right running shoe. I like the idea and look behind these adidas bounce running shoes. Anything that makes me more springy on my feet is appreciated. And the pink is SO happy on these shoes. And if there is one thing I adore, it's a vibrant pink!

Description

Last time I went to belly dance class I grabbed my hip belt and zils and threw them in a plastic bag (yes, I know, it's shameful!) . This charming little messenger bag would fit my sports equipment and have infinite more style points than a silly plastic bag. Also, even if it does get stinky, it can be washed.

Amongst all of the shoes I own, it occurs to me that I own a large number of specialized shoes. These sporty mary janes are aching to be the next addition to the collection. They would be perfect yoga shoes (obviously not to wear while practicing) for the too and fro of getting to yoga. They also could be good for a walk in the park (they are better looking than sneakers).

Description

I remember back in middle school when I first heard about title nine. In the wash of companies trying to out macho each other, title nine was building sports clothing for women. I ordered one of their sports bras and Have been hooked ever since, it's clear they design with women in mind. They don't have as extensive of lines as the bigger named places do, but every piece they have (and every piece I've ordered) is comfortable and usable at the same time. This bra is no exception.

Description

I have never found the showing of undergarments a particularly nice fashion statement. Undergarments are called that exactly for that reason, they belong under things. The showing of thongs out of jean, the slipping of straps out of shirts all are things that the right undergarment can avoid. I vary this rule only once, exercise. I'm don't think it was Brandi Chastain but maybe it was. Wearing a sports bra seems like the ultimate sign of being in shape. And this delicate and cute little green one is pretty enough to be outer or underwear.

These pants are about comfort. There a no seams and they promise no...chafing...(it's such an ugly word, i know, but, but it's important. i'll never say it again). Maybe I just run like Phoebe off of friends, but comfortable (no chafing) pants are just what I need as I start to run again. The capri is definitely my favorite of the bunch...but that's because I avoid shorts at almost all costs and plain old straight legged pants and I don't get along.

It's snowing outside, again. And that means cold. In fact it's suppose to hit negative digits later this week. But that doesn't mean I get to hide inside. No siree, bob. And this long sleeved shirt will make the perfect gym companion. Because, even when it's cold out, it's still time to exercise. Light blue, with a casually scrawled sidebar and dark blue v neck, how could I not love this shirt.

On days when I want to be in bed, but end up dragging myself the gym way, I usually relax a bit and wear a tee shirt (which of course leads to me run in with people where I look groddy). This blue (can you tell I like blue?) tee shirt with it's yin and yang dragons would be a perfect compromise between my sleepy self and my "but-you-must-look-nice" at the gym self. Besides, orange has been growing on me (like fungi?) with it's cheery little self.

Remember back when we are all supposed to "shift the paradigm" and all that other business lingo that was awesome, except you know, not. The name of this tank might be silly, but I like the swooping dark blue lines on top of a nice light blue v neck tank (hey, it is the season of blue). Plus, if you don't feel like showing off your sports bra to the world....the solid straps will keep everything hidden.

A few times ago when I was at the gym. I was wearing a tee shirt, not even a cute one (it was an old one from a previous employer) and of course I ran into one of my exs. Now, I don't know about you, but I know that seeing an ex has a way of getting under my skin. I have since dressed better to go to the gym (which surprisingly makes me work harder, a double bonus!) but haven't seen him again. This cute little cami with it's color fading pattern might not seem like much at first, but with the discreet pattern and blue straps it's different from what most others are wearing and makes you stand out from the legions of black.

It's all about the blue this season! I'm loving this blue tank top for working out in. It's halter like nature makes me feel pretty (and forget that healthy business, isn't that what working out is for ;-) ) and the cerulean blue color would look good on most skin tones. Plus there is a cute little print on the side which spices up the basic blue.

I'm a coat and sweater girl. I own two hooded sweatshirts, one from an old employer and the other from college. So when this hoodie appealed to me, I was shocked. Granted I hate getting my coat or my fleece all icky after working out. But, I never found a zip hoodie I found cute enough...this zip hoodie might just fit the bill.

Okay, so by definition these are yoga pants. But I don't think I'd wear them to yoga (though they would do an admirable job there). I am a horrible and will probably re-appropriate these pants as lazy pants. You know the type, the I want to vanish into my bed under the down comforter and forget the world a while pants? Yeah, these would be those pants.

I love capri, especially when in yoga class. Because, to be honest, capris look silly on me when I can't be barefoot or in a strappy sandal...so sadly I never wear them when running just when practicing yoga. This capris are so cute. The just look fun. The madcap colorful band at the top and the cut of these pants have them at the top of my new for yoga list.

Inner peace and all that is great, but you know the secret mean girl inside of you is totally checking out the other girls in the yoga class. Where did she get those pants? Where did she get that mat? These flared yoga pants are flattering (whose hips don't like appearing just a tiny bit littler) and stylish (or maybe I just love pink!) means that I'll be able to wear my pants proudly when I walk into class.

So, don't tell anyone, but I'm totally jealous of the girls at the gym desk some days. They seem so put together and fit. Given the fact that they work at a gym and I work sitting down all day, there is probably a reason they are so fit, but this shirt just reminds me of something that they would wear. It's like the new essential of fitness. Basic and delicate but with just a hint of provactuer shown through the midriff baring.

Description

Goal clothes are fun! I have this little vintage dress that hangs on my closet door reminding me to be a good girl and not overindulge. This cute little work out top isn't something I'd wear quite yet, but it would make an excellent goal shirt (because no one wants to show off underdeveloped abs). I like the swirl design (which makes me feel like I'm not just wearing a sports bra) and the delicate straps. Something perfect for when I hit that goal.

I think I just get bored with the whole basic tank top thing. I mean seriously, when I'm working out the last thing I want to do is come in in my oldest shirt. I'm working out to feel better and to look better, so I like being reminded why. This form fitting criss cross tank top allows me to satisfy my need for being stylish while sill being comfortable when working out. Plus it's in such a cheery color, I can't help but smile a bit when I see it.

Description

New Years Resolutions. Three little words, a whole year of hurt. This year I decided to take up running. At least I get to comfort shop for new clothes! I love this cami from Fit Couture. The swirl design gives it a little bit of edge without being just "yet-another-plain-cami" or YAPC as I like to call it (modeled after YACC, sorry). It will be perfect for jogging at the gym or for my yoga class and maybe when this snow melts it would be perfect for a nice summer run.
