Shiny Rose Elegant Dress

Description

It's a little early to be looking at winter clothes, I know. But I saw this Victorian Maiden OP and was in love! It would be a perfect special event dress. I'm loving the gray, but then again I always love gray. Also, if you are going to event where your lolita wear wouldn't be welcome I think this dress (and a lot of Victorian Maiden's stuff actually) can be made to walk that line gently.

wool fishtail applique skirt

It's no secret I love retro things. This wool fishtail skirt would be something I wanted if it was just grey wool, to add appliquéd flowers to the 'tail' make it an unforgettable skirt. Plus, it's made to your size and custom garments always look better than off the rack.

This purse is amazing. It's made from an old dictionary. I love that. It's an art purse that's big enough to use. Yay! Also, cool grey and a polka dotted blue pattern. The colors together are just amazing! It's just too perfect. In short, even though I just got a new purse...I'm tempted to get another.

Description

I have this thing for vintage clothes...or a least vintage style clothes. I love playing with older styles. I think vintage is slightly the logical extension of playing dress up when you were little. And with this flapper mini dress you have all the glory of the roaring 20s along with a dress that is stylish today.

Description

A few years back my stepmother got my me the Lily Pulitzer cookbook. The recipes were nice of course, but the best part was the pictures. Old pictures of Lily from back when she was younger. One of the most memorable pictures of the book was one of her in an off the shoulder maxi dress, she looked so alive, so happy and the dress looked so right. This dress reminds me of it. It's a maxi dress that in the basic black, white and gray...except for that splash of pink. And it's that splash that make all the difference in the world.

Here's a charming pleated chiffon maxi dress. I like the layering of greys in it. From the crinkled grey chiffon to the embroidered grey detail, it's a dress that is very smartly put together. Though, since it's made of silk I'd probably keep it away from the pool.

My Latin class went to Italy when I was in middle school and my Latin teacher, whom I was in awe of, wore a dress similar to this every day we were there. As such, I have a predisposition for colorfully printed dresses that flutter as you walk. And this dress is a perfect example of it.

I'm not normally an orange fan, but there is something intrguing about this dress. I think with it's 70s styling I'm more ap to forgive i the orange. Either way, I like how airy this dress looks...it's long and uses who knows how much fabric, but it doesn't look like that.

These leggings are equal parts crazy and equal parts fun. And leggings like these would be perfect under a little denim mini. I have to admit, I was a bit skeptical upon return of the eighties trend, but it's growing on me. These leggings just look awesome!

Description

As a child of the 80s I can tell you that they one thing you can never have too many pairs of was stirrup pants. I vastly preferred them to jeans when I was younger and in fact I think it's part of the reason that leggings didn't bother me too much when they appeared on the scene again recently. Then I loved the way that stirrup pants meant you always had a clean line, now I think I love them for the same reason (and that they are warm!).

Sit up and fly vintage. Or, at least that's what this pencil jumper reminds me of. I feel like I should be in a 40s movie with a killer pair of shoes. This jumper reminds me of being smartly dressed and that's always a god thing.

DKNY Swimwear : Dip Dyed Drape Tankini

Description

Aesthetically I like bikinis, I think they are pretty and just fun all around. In practice I'm not so crazy about baring my tummy for the world to see and thus love tankini. And this dip dyed tankini is just my style. It progresses from white to gray to black and has a slight gather around the waist. This is a suit that would make me look forward to the lake.

You might not be a printer, but that doesn't mean grayscale isn't still fun. This fun little chiffon grayscale dress is made better by the addition of itty bitty polka dots. I'm also really loving the straps on this dress it just looks like a fun and yet solid dress that is awesomely cute!

ABS always has something that I love and, it's usually pretty reasonably priced. This long empire waist chiffon dress once again up holds to my abs expectaions! The tan, gray and cream dress reminds me vaguely of a what a Grecian goddess would wear...if she lived today. It's plum adorable!

Description

Blue is a good color. It has such a wide variety of usage. The icy blue in this halter dress pairs nicely with the gray halter neck tie. This dress is such a fun dress. I like the morphing from color to color. It's a lighter ombre than most of the ombres I've been seeing this season and I like it. Since it's a more causal cut, this dress could be brought out for a nice day time party of even a casual evening one.

If navy blue thrills you like it thrills me, you might find this ombre skirt to your liking. It takes my two favorite blues (navy and cerulean) and shimmers between them. Toss in a splash of grey, a skirt that hits below my knee and you have something that could become a summer staple for me!

Ombre is not just for parties though. Say I wanted to bring a splash of ombre to work (casual fridays of course). Dkny ombre skirt might be just the thing. In work appropriate colors (ah, the glories of black and gray) and had a suitable length, I'm seeing this skirt with a black cardigan set (air conditioning makes offices cold in the summer!).

You know what they say about an over abundance of clothing sometimes being more intriguing than the naked form? Well, I completely understand what they mean. As such I have a tendency to enjoy the steampunk, victorian and even gothic lolita style. These shoes, with their grey flannel and lace and slightly shaped heel have me all a twitter. They don't show the toe, or even much of the foot, but I think encased in them, they would be gloriously intriguing.

Houndstooth for the win! Houndstooth means I always love it. Add a little bit of red, beading and flowers and though the pieces make the shoes sound like they might be old fashioned...they are really quite charming. In fact, I'd call them very anti-old fashioned. For some reason I see them with skinny stovepipe pants and almost punkish.

The first memory I have of my stepmother is a movie she took me to...it was Hocus Pocus. I know I should have been scared, but my only thought was those shoes are awesome! As such I rather enjoy it when witch shoes come back into fashion, they can be incorporated into fashion when there is a tiny bit of victorian influence.

And what is a better harbinger of autumn than the pointy toed pilgrim heels. Now, I'm sure that the pilgrims didn't wear shoes exactly like this, but they'd be awful fashionable if they did! I like the laces and the warm grey suede color. But best of all, I like how they can be worn with tights and the best skirt of the season.

My shoes are not normal. They all have something extra about them. From my most recent pair of pucci print peep toe pumps to the ribboned ballet flats I wore to the store this morning, all my shoes have that little bit of extra. These grey heels with a "slash" front are a different. It's a shoe that can't decide quite what it is and that makes it a shoe definitely for me!

I remember the first time I read about Christian Louboutin pumps. Some actress was saying how the only thing she couldn't "live without" where her Christian Louboutin shoes. I thought it silly at the time, but now I look at them and I get it. The sexy red soles. The always perfect sexy strut it inspires. And add grey and crepe and you have me hooked.
