Description

I like this cameo not so much for the carving on the front, though I like the swan on a lake scene. Rather I like this cameo for the variable color in the background. It makes it look like a sunset which when paired with a simple lake makes a pretty tableau.

One of the things I love about this cameo is that unlike many cameo subject which show women swathed in layers of clothing with hair in a prim updo, this subject shows a woman enjoying her youth . Handmade in Italy, the quality just shines through on this hand carved cameo.

One of the things I love the most about this cameo is the fact that it doesn't have the trim. It's just shell and flowers. It's more casual this way, more fun this way. I think this totally compliments the earthy nature of the floral subject of the pendant that can also be used as a pin.

I'm of a mixed mind on these watches. On one hand I think they are cleverly cute and slightly adorable. On the other while they would be perfect for lolita wear and vintage inspired outfits they might be a little overwhelming for everything else. Oh, I don't know what era this is from, but it's simply fabulous. With the slinky tubing (who even sees that in jewelry anymore) to the casual flowers in the front. Blue rhinestones are nestled in the heart of the flower. I can see this working either casually (with blue jeans?) or with a smart little cocktail dress.

Real snakes can make me ever so uncomfortable, jewelry snakes on the other hand have me in love. I adore snake bracelets, snake broaches, snake necklaces. This turquoise snake pin has me wanting it for several reasons, the least of which not being it's beauty. I like the slight patina the turquoise, I like the shape of it, all of it really i amazing.

Description

Some cameos are expensive, some are not. All are pretty. This cameo isn't on that belongs in a museum, but it's almost better that way. With nicer cameos I save them for the right time, the perfect moment. With my cheaper cameos, I just have fun and throw them on a ribbon to make a choker, or pin on my purse to add that little bit extra. With a black background, white floral centerpiece and silver edge. This cameo would certainly get lots of use.

Description

I love cameos, I remember when I was little digging through my stepmother's jewelry box and skipping over everything to look at her cameos. She had this one that I was in love with. To this day I still love cameos. I think you really can mix them into any outfit. I find this medusa cameo slightly cheeky. Medusa was a strong woman and is sometimes portrayed as a monstrous woman, but in this cameo, she is beautiful. It's a cameo with a decidedly fun twist on the wholesome flowers and religious scenes normally seen.

Engagement rings seem to increasingly be all in the same style. One big rock in the middle of a plain band. I still like the big stone (you want it to be sparkly), but I like a little bit more interest in my rings. This vintage inspired engagement ring is gorgeous. Earring exactly like this are what I wore all through the eighties. In the early 90s with the arrival of minimalist I jettisoned all of them. But, you know looking at them, they aren't that bad. In fact, I'm kind of thinking in addition to being fun for daily wear again, they'd be awesome for St Patricks day. I'm totally loving these again.

The eighties certainly were a time of brightness, bright clothes, bright shoes and bright jewelry. This time around a ring like this seems oh, so eighties and I think it would be kind of fun. A rainbow of nonpareils make up the ring. It's just a fun blast to the past, and is that's what 80s fashion is about? (though leg warmers are just useful).

Pink Crystal Star Necklace

I got my ears pierced for the very first (well and only) time in the 80s. My first pair of earring where a traditional diamond stud, but when it came time to go to school I had a whole set of plastic and faux crystal earrings. This pink crystal star necklace reminds of those earrings and of jewelry that made was "cool" in the 80s.

These bracelets were actually outlawed from my school when I was little. Like many forbidden things it actually just raised the value of snap bracelets and they became a hot "black market" item on the school bus. I've always liked cuffs and so with the resurgence of the 80s, I can't wait to bring my black market bracelets back.
