Lolita skirts usually have a very standard shape, and while I own quite a few of the standard shape, I like those that are a bit different, those whose decoration comes from the style as well as the beauty velvet and the medieval scene on the front. It's a skirt that transports you to a different place and isn't that what fashion is all about?

It's no secret I love retro things. This wool fishtail skirt would be something I wanted if it was just grey wool, to add appliquéd flowers to the 'tail' make it an unforgettable skirt. Plus, it's made to your size and custom garments always look better than off the rack.

Description

This dress screams summer to me, but then I've always had a thing for polka dots. It's actually a dress et with a skirt and corset top, but I love how it looks as a dress. From the lacy tiers and frills to the ribbon and sheer boldness of the red polka dot, it fantastic. There is also a baby pink and baby blue version if that's more your speed, but I've never been scared away by red.

So, one of the things I try to keep in mind when purchasing Lolita wear, is whether or not I can work it into another outfit. Some things are Lolita only, but sometimes, usually with blouses or coats, I can wear items to work or with my favorite black dress or just out. Call me crazy, but I think I might actually be able to wear this skirt to work. It's highwaisted with a mermaid flare and the cutest little bow accents.

For a rather fun take on sweet or classic lolita, I'm loving this dress set. It's a house of cards! With charming cards on the skirt and the diamond, heart, spade and ace on the shoulder. I come in black and an assortment of other colors if black is a bit to forward for you.

Description

If I had to pick my favorite color I'd probably end up saying pink...because pink can be so flexible in everything from pale baby pink to a deep almost purple magenta. But truthfully, my favorite shade is navy blue. And this coat with it's double breasted row of gold buttons is very nearly my favorite coat that I've seen this season.

If navy blue thrills you like it thrills me, you might find this ombre skirt to your liking. It takes my two favorite blues (navy and cerulean) and shimmers between them. Toss in a splash of grey, a skirt that hits below my knee and you have something that could become a summer staple for me!

Ombre is not just for parties though. Say I wanted to bring a splash of ombre to work (casual fridays of course). Dkny ombre skirt might be just the thing. In work appropriate colors (ah, the glories of black and gray) and had a suitable length, I'm seeing this skirt with a black cardigan set (air conditioning makes offices cold in the summer!).

Bright fall color, check. Fall brown, check. Skirt that looks like it's ready for fall, check. It might be spring now, but I'm already looking forward to fall (it's my favorite season after all) and this skirt is just one of the many reasons. Today seems to be my day to be in love with everything Valentino does. There is something utterly soft and feminine about the cut of this tiger suit even though the pattern is of a fierce predator. So, I just finished watching Clueless ("as if!") and I have to say that I had forgotten how many checked and plaid patterns where there. It's amazing how much plaids and patterns stay around. This high waisted light plaid skirt is just what you need this spring. It's pencil styling and knee length means it can be used in a multitude of situations from casual to dressy with a variety of tops.

Usually I'm not a big fan of colored denim...black, green and most other non blue denims slightly annoy me. However, grey denim makes me smile. And a grey denim skirt like this denim skirt...is absolutely breathtaking. I like the big clip that darts it in on the center. I always think of Italy when I see circle skirts.
