Description

I think I could live in this shirt all summer (well not really since I can't wear sleeveless shirts to my new job). It pairs with lolita, it pairs with jeans, it pairs with those black pants or skirt for going out. It's just too perfect. Corset styling and ruffles combine in either pink, ivory or black. I favor the ivory of white.

I love this dress for the idea it brings to mind. The Sunday brunch or Saturday in the park or maybe just a weekday picnic feel I get from it. It's cute without being excessively frilly and it's pretty without demanding too much attention. It's a good staple of a dress.

Oh bright, sunshiny day. This dress looks like it belongs in the heat of summer on a picnic at the lake or up at the cabin. Pockets are placed for those little essentials you need when sunbathing. Looks like it would be equally nice as a coverup or as a casual dress for those hot summer days.

I might be wearing yellow and black, but I certainly don't look like a bumblebee! In fact, I like this yellow and black combination....it's a charming little spring/early summer dress. A buttery polka dot, with black tulle and yellow ribbons screams 'aren't I cute'! And the dress has a right to be pleased with itself, it is!

Yellow is really one of those colors that looks good on everyone. Or at least on most. This dress is a nice solid summer dress that gets a whole bunch more interesting since it's made of bright yellow and gold! I'm thinking paired with a cardigan this would be a good Church dress too, since it hits at the knee.

I have this thing for vintage clothes...or a least vintage style clothes. I love playing with older styles. I think vintage is slightly the logical extension of playing dress up when you were little. And with this flapper mini dress you have all the glory of the roaring 20s along with a dress that is stylish today.

This dress caught my eye because it would be perfect for a casual day around the house, shopping at the farmers market or out on a country picnic. The ruffles help contribute to the cute without being cutesy feel of this smocked dress. Made partially of cotton, it looks soft too.

Description

Most of the maxi dresses I've seen this season have either been strapless or cut very low with a deep v. This maxi dress has a mandarin collar and it has me intrigued. I like the vibrant red pattern and the seemingly more put together look I could see with this dress. Yes, it's a maxi dress...but it's also a far different look than many others out there now.

My Latin class went to Italy when I was in middle school and my Latin teacher, whom I was in awe of, wore a dress similar to this every day we were there. As such, I have a predisposition for colorfully printed dresses that flutter as you walk. And this dress is a perfect example of it.

It's very hippie, but not in that patachouli stinky way. I'm really liking this blue dress, it looks comfortable, good for day wear and kind of casual too. The best of hippie fashion without layering in the crazy.

I'm not normally an orange fan, but there is something intrguing about this dress. I think with it's 70s styling I'm more ap to forgive i the orange. Either way, I like how airy this dress looks...it's long and uses who knows how much fabric, but it doesn't look like that.

So, I'm a bit of geek. My favorite show recently has been Firefly (yes, I know it's been a long time since it came out, I like rewatching it). One of my favorite lines in it is "ooh!, captain can I have money for slinky dress?", it's said very adorably. This is definietly a slinky dress. It's very fluid, very sexy and with the tiny cutout detail and beading...I think it hits all slinky qualities.

Description

Long dresses seem to be gaining ground and I'm always all for long dresses...they let you dress up that standard sundress with just their length. I'm loving this Diane von Furstenberg Maxi dress (though when don't I like her dresses), from it's springy green to the almost pleat on the front of the dress, I think it's a great spring/summer dress.

Gingham, cherries and strawberries combine for this glorious summer print sundress. Perfect for a picnic or fair it's absolutely adorable. I really like the larger cherry and strawberry trim around the bottom, the little ribbon bow on the front and comfortable back.

I like the high waist of this dress, makes it seem very baby doll-esque. Perfect for the Sweet Lolita. A bow sits right below the chest and there is a cute lace up on the top of the dress. The print is child like without being childish and the back of the dress lets a little bit of white peek out.

For a rather fun take on sweet or classic lolita, I'm loving this dress set. It's a house of cards! With charming cards on the skirt and the diamond, heart, spade and ace on the shoulder. I come in black and an assortment of other colors if black is a bit to forward for you.

This dress would probably either fall under country lolita or perhaps elegant lolita (though it is printed so I hesitate slightly to call it that). Either way it is a glorious sundress with wonderful print and beautiful detailing. In addition to being a sundress, you could probably also make it a nice jumper by adding a simple blouse.

Want a Lolita dress that easily switches from summer to winter? This dress is amazing for that. You could wear it all by it's lonesome, with a short sleeves shirt or a long sleeves blouse...all look equally good. I like the almost baby doll empire waist. This dress is more of an elegant Lolita look, but still could be made gothic with the right accessories.

It's nice to see blue come out and play this season. I like seeing all the different shades. Like this shade, which isn't quite dark and isn't quite light. Never the less it makes a good summer dress. The peek a boo key hole is sultry without being slutty and the length (knee length) means it's a dress that keeps it's cool.

This cute little corset styled polka dotted shirt reminds me a 40s pinup girl. I feel like hair should be curled and you should be wearing a pair of capris on a beach somewhere. Blue and white polka dots always scream nautical to me and nautical implies summer!

This blue right here, the not quite turquoise, the not quite lagoon, the not quite seawater is such a good color! I'd love this dress for the color alone, but in addition to the color it's actually quite a fun dress. It looks like it would be comfortable just kicking around on a lazy summer day.
