Description

I am looking forward to summer, but when I saw this coat my first (and only) thought was 'why isn't it cold yet!'. To say I'm in love is an understatement. Herringbone with big black buttons and those sleeves, the sleeves are what make me weak. It's such a pretty coat, it's such a coat that makes you want to put it on to escape the winter cold and it's coat that has me wishing it was winter.

Description

Creamy white wool with a discrete swirl. This white capelet with it's big buttons brings to mind Catherine Deneuve. And there is something so delicate about her. This white wool capelet will be perfect to wear to a nice fall or winter dinner. Be that glamorous screen queen!

I'm of a mixed mind about romance novels. On one hand I think the books themselves can be rather tawdry and perhaps a bit silly, but on the other hand the clothes they describe in some romance novels catch my fancy. I've had a love for houndstooth since I read a romance novel many many yearns ago and it described an old houndstooth jacket, elegant and timeless. This houndstooth capelet is just that. Perfect for the fall and winter. I like the black and white check..the cut of this capelet makes me want to wear it with a nice black turtleneck or perhaps a little black dress..either way it'll keep that fall chill out.

I live in a city. There is a sidewalk in front of my house and tennis courts in the park about a block away. None the less, I love barn jackets. Love them. This quilted red barn jacket is just perfect for a brisk fall day, a nice winter day or an early spring day. With it's scrolling quilting and playful zip, I'm head over heels...again.

Description

Poppies are my favorite flower, seeing them in a field or in a bouquet just makes me smile insane amounts. This bag combines three of my loves: shiny (i'm secretly a raccoon I think), handbags (girl can't have TOO many) and the orange poppy color (letting me carry the flower without carrying it, so to say).

Perfect for spring, even better for the resort.

Description

Half the reason resorts are so fun, is that things are just more fun. Everyone is in a suspension of work, of life, of responsibility. And things that normally would be...over the top, well they just seem to fit.

Case in point, these adorable little ballet flats from Stella McCartney. They are a happy little lime yellow color and have the most adorable little daisy looking flower on top. Perfect for slipping into as you run into a regression to the childlike fun of vacay!

Description

There is something so resort about white and something so vacation about safari. Not, crazy canvas in the bush safari, but rather this delicate safari dress that is perfect for resort wear. I like the length (since vacation is all about brevity), the color (since white contrasts so nicely with sand, sun and water), and sleeves (keeping warm on those beach nights). Plus it's by Stella McCartney...and while I'm not always completely with her on style, I always like something she does each season.

Description

Bedding needs layers. Sheets, quilt, duvet (with fluffy down comforter) make up my bed. So, if I'm getting a new duvet cover than I should probably get another quilt to keep me warm on those winter nights. After all, wouldn't want to have something mismatched in my bedroom! It is my sanctuary of course.

There was another fresh layer of snow on the ground when I awoke this morning. We just finished brunch, but the time will soon come to head out on for another lazy exploring day. There might be shopping, there might be a movie. There will definitely be snow and it will definitely be casual attire. This cashmere turtleneck sweater would be perfect! It's soft and warm (to ward against the snow) and even though it might be casual, I won't feel like I'm not put together.

At heart I'm a casual girl. As much as I love the sparkle, shine and the dress...on weekends I'd prefer to be kicked back in true religion jeans, a soft sweater and a pair of funky ballet flats. I spent the day walking on the beach...not a warm beach, because why would I go somewhere warm for the holidays, but a cold Maine coast. It was a bit chilly (though really quite nice), as I sit in my room right now I wish I could be wrapped in cashmere when I go out tonight. Description

Losing my luggage has me re-examining my wardrobe. Instead of one of my myriad black jackets, this quilted barn jacket by burberry has that hint of traditional plaid n the cuff and collar with a nice pinkish purple-y outside. Perfect for a casual weekend (especially one on the coast!).

This black, white and grey checked rain coat just looks like it would be so perfect in either rain, light snow or just when it's windy out! I like the mid thigh hit of the coat which means that it would work well with either casual pants or perhaps over a nice skirt and coat.

Description

As much as I love my pretty heeled boots, I realize that they aren't the most practical for clomping around in the snow. These burberry red boots on the other hand look like they'd be ready for the iditarod or at least the stylish iiditarod. The red plaid is cut by cute little black laces, while the strong rubber sole will keep all the water out and your feet warm.

Description

Though I often list pink as my favorite color, when push comes to shove it's red. I love red, all types of red, carmine, sanguine, ruby, garnet. No red (even the orange red) make me turn my head from them. This red woven burberry scarf is in a lovely shade of red. It also has one of my favorite secondary colors (cream). The texture of the woven scarf complete a gorgeous trifecta to make this a scarf I want to wrap up in come the upcoming January freeze.

The burberry scarf seems to be rather iconic now and everybody seems to have one. I like this remix of the classic. In fuzzy cashmere with some texture adding furls, the black, white and grey scarf looks even warmer than the traditional one.

I remember reading somewhere when I was little that every woman needed one good black leather handbag. Well, I took that perhaps a bit too much to heart and own several. This black quilted leather bag by burberry would make an excellent addition to my purse collection. Christmas eve day I fly out to Vermont to experience a white Christmas. Vermont has been getting the snow that I've been missing here in Montana. Sadly, snow while being gorgeous also can cause trouble with the slippage. These Uggs are hardcore winter boots. The leather and gripping heels will keep the balance just that much easier to keep on the snowy icy roads.

So, I'll admit it. When I was in elementary school I watched Xena: Warrior Princess. She was just kind of cool. Strong, smart and her outfit was so shiny! These boots make me feel like you'd be a warrior princess wearing them. And even though it's been ages since Xena was cool, the Ugg lace ups make me wonder if I could be that cool princess my 10 year old self thought it would be neat to be.

One of my college roommates had a pair of off brand Uggs once. Stylistically though they weren't as comfy, they were just as cute. She however made it a point to wear them in the snow. Let's just say they didn't weather too well.

These Ugg boots with their leather body and rubber sole will stay looking good and keep you dry even in the deepest snow. Plus with the sheepskin interior your feet will toasty warm!

Chesnuts roasting on the fire, kitschy Swedish Christmas sweaters, I kind of like that White Christmas feeling. These mid calf Ugg boots let you feel like you should be wearing leggings and making hot cocoa in the alps. The warm sheepskin insides keeps your feet toasty, the leather sole keeps your feet dry and the toggle buckles add a little but of fun to otherwise basic boots.

I'm still not a big fan of leggings. This is not to say that I don't own some. Leggings make it so that going out on a cold winter night isn't as cold as it used to be, but still, they just don't seem to match the rest of my wardrobe. This brown, tan and pink argyle tunic make up for that. When I match this over leggings, the argyle makes the leggings seem not that bad.
