Description

When I was a little girl I begged my mother for a polaroid camera. I liked the sound it made when taking a picture. Since then I've had a soft spot for polaroids. This picture is a giant polariod! It's a little under 11x14 and is bright and perfectly pretty and ready to hang. The subject matter itself is a close up of a mundane item (in this case a ice cream truck) made new by the abstraction of it.

As far as decorative parasols go, I don't think I've seen something this pretty for a while. Yellow and blue flowers bloom all over the umbrella like raindrops would fall. It's a gorgeous design executed in gorgeous colors. It would only be good for sunny days, but with a umbrella like that I'd be willing to take that chance.

When I was little my dad had a rubiks cube in his office. My five year old self had the hardest time getting it complete and usually failed miserably. Black, white and yellow. It's utterly spring and summery. It's utterly gorgeous. And with yellow being such a hot trend this season, it's utterly spot on. The yellow flowers and print on the invitation itself is very bold and yet with the classic black and white response card it's also easy for guests to write their response on.

I remember back in high school when I bought my first nice purse. I had been given a handful of Coach and Dooney & Bourke purses by my stepmother for special occasions, but the first nice purse I bought was the iconic black Kate Spade. I loved it. And it's the simplicity of design and yet simultaneous playfulness that I loved in her purses that I love in her wedding invitations. Classic, chic and oh so lighthearted. Adorable for a wedding.

Without my mascara my lashes are frighteningly short. Some days I think that fake lashes are just the thing to help with my lash issue. And I'm digging these yellow fake eyelashes. They make me appear like I actually was endowed with long fluffy eyelashes and they are yellow, orange and white. Perfect for a dramatic look!

I remember back when Dr. Scholl's started releasing their classic sandals in different colors. No one quite knew if they were cool or not. Personally, I love the red and white pair I got, but I would have loved any wooden sandal with red and white gingham. There sandal designs have certainly come a long way. And I'm kind of loving this sandal, it's a wedge and built by Dr Scholls, so it's bound to be comfortable. Plus, it's such a cute floral print.

If this jacket was simply collared like normal coats, I'd love it. But, since it has a hood in it's bright yellow double breasted glory, I adore it. It's vibrant like a raincoat, but worn like a normal one. With white it looks sublime.

As many heels as I have in my wardrobe, I also like flats. And while in the fall and winter my ballet flats get a work out, in the spring and summer it's sandals, thongs and flip flops. These bright yellow thongs are amazingly bright, fun and they look comfy. They kind of look like those shoes that you get to match an outfit and then without realizing become the shoes you wear all summer long.

I adore these shoes. Bright yellow with dark pin flowers and a little crystal detail on the peep toe...these pumps are a having a fun time and I feel like I should be too. A four inch heels means they aren't too bad walking in, though I wouldn't recommend a leisurely stroll in them.

I love the wedge and I love how every summer the wedge is there (thank you fashionistas!). Because the wedge makes sure that you have a bit more stablity when you are at picnic, on the beach, or just out for a stroll. Toss in a bit of shiny yellow and cork and you have a shoe that allows you to be comfortable and take advantage of the yellow trend in a subtle way.

I like berets, though it's hard to find a good beret. They all have a tendency to look pretentious or some such thing. But this beret, I'm liking. It sits like a beret should, not all high flying in the air. And to make it more adorable it has a poem by e.e. cummings printed on the inside. Perfect for spring.

I might be wearing yellow and black, but I certainly don't look like a bumblebee! In fact, I like this yellow and black combination....it's a charming little spring/early summer dress. A buttery polka dot, with black tulle and yellow ribbons screams 'aren't I cute'! And the dress has a right to be pleased with itself, it is!
