About Me

I was born in Ukraine 1969. Both of my parents were Ghetto survivors. Like many immigrants my parents left their home to escape the daily struggle of racial discrimination. They brought me to Brooklyn (where I lived since) in hopes for a peaceful future. I graduated FDR high school and then went on to get a Computer Science degree from Brooklyn College paying for it myself via odd part time jobs like office manager, computer hardware assembly, as well as a bodybuilding trainer.

After receiving my Bachelors in Computer Science, I immediately landed a job in Merrill Lynch working with a cutting edge development team. I quickly excelled as the leading software engineer and became an internal consultant for Merrill Lynch to re-organize and improve struggling development efforts in the firm. After his second year I became an independent consultant working and engineering software for Smith Barney, Met Life and spending the last 5 years of my consulting career as a software engineer for systems on the New York Stock Exchange trading floor.

I married Dianna in 1993. While both having a full time careers, Dianna and I were young entrepreneurs and started several businesses together trying to fulfilling a life dream of working together as a team. Dianna, in love with designer fashion and aware of the latest trends was at the same time budget conscious. She had discovered Sample Sales which at that time not many people knew about. Dianna wanted to share this discovery with all the people who were fashion conscious but were not able to pay the big ticket prices. In 1999 we decided we would create a FREE Sample Sale information portal on the web and at that time http://TOPBUTTON.com/ (formally NYSALE) was conceived.

It's all about innovation, hard work, and most important the belief in yourself.
